Sad to see his wife of 47 years Sandy passed away due to complications from ALS. As someone who witnessed first hand how devastating this disease can be, my deepest sympathies go out to Vin and his family.
My grandmother that I lived with growing up got ALS late in her life and it progressed from her initially losing her ability to walk to usage of her arms and hands to pain that left her crying and moaning nearly every hour of every day.
We had a live-in nurse the last few months, but she could only do so much for her. The only redemption was that she was able to pass in her own home and bed.
I was out of town for my company at the time, working on Long Island and missed the last plane out to Cincinnati due to a cab that never came to pick me up.
I spent the night at Hauppauge Ramada Inn remembering what a great lady she was and all she and my grandpa had done for me, my mom and sister growing up - most of all taking us all in after my POS father bailed not long after I was born.

Vin finally reunited with the love of his life, Sandi. Truly a Michaelangelo behind the microphone and there will never be another.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Scully. I hope if I make it to 94 I’m 1/4 as cognizant and colourful as you were.
