Wow, 106 wins! I bet ours is the only team to have that many wins and not lead the bigs. It's about time we won that crown; we've won plenty of pennants and I'm sick of hearing about that 1988 team.
First the American league: The A's will beat the Rays in the wild card. They're close in both runs scored and ERA, but the A's have the momentum right now. The A's won't get past the 'Stros' dynamic duo of Verlander and Cole, however. Meanwhile, the Yanks' plethora of injuries have continued to mount and have finally started to catch up to them in the worst possible time. Both their ERA and runs scored are very comparable to those of the Twins, who will beat the Yanks. The 'Stros will beat the Twins for the pennant.
Now the National League: the Brewers were "brewing" till over a week ago, when Yelich went down and a couple other key players also. They suddenly hit the skids and lost their last three games. On top of that the Nats have scored a good deal more runs and allowed a good deal less, and the Brewers won't beat their ace, mad Max Shearzer. The Nats will then lose to our boys in blue for the same reasons they'll beat the Brew crew. Meanwhile, the Cardinals' pitching is a little better than the Braves', but the Braves scored a good deal more runs, so advantage Braves, but they won't get past our boys in blue for the pennant.
How teams did head-to-head means nothing in the playoffs. It's a whole 'nother animal and mentality
The World Series! Both our boys and the 'Stros are better teams than in '17. Our overall pitching is better than theirs and they scored 35 more runs which, in 162 isn't even noticable. It'll be a knock out drag out 7 game series, but our boys will get that coveted crown, by sheer grit and "third time is the charm".
Thoughts?
