We've played 14 games? Why are you so panicked about Kemp? OMG! he may have gained a couple of pounds....OMG! he's slooow in the outfield? Do you think he's responsible for are 5-9 record? Relax, it's early. Let's give him 40 or 50 games to give him a true evaluation. I'm not panicked about Kemp. He has gained a couple pounds. He is slow. Are you saying he's not? Why are you taking those comments personal? Is he your cousin or something? |

When someone says he plays "fine" in the outfield it just tells me that
1) they aren't watching the games OR
2) they are so inebriated that they can't tell the difference.
With that said, I already said he hasn't killed us out there.

Gotta admit not only does Kemp have the Oscar Gamble look going, but so, far old 27 is making solid and putting good swings on the ball, like he is having flash back to 9 years ago. And now, his four year stint is over and he back home to terrorize the opposition.  |

In the short term, I am happy to have been wrong. But I still want to see this level of motivation and discipline be sustained over the long term. Last season Kemp reported to camp 'in his best shape in years', 30 pounds lighter and came out of the gate this same way. Through May last year Kemp was hitting .345 with a .608 SLG, 10 HR and 30 RBI. After May he hit .232 with a .371 SLG, 9 HR and 34 RBI and ballooned back up to the point that he had to once again lose 40 pounds over the winter.
Hopefully he stays healthy, motivated, and productive through the entire summer this season.
