Although the wife was giving me updates as we traveled north from Destin, FL on I-65. She was happy as she has kind of adopted the Ravens as her “backup” team due to their QB playing for her college (Louisville). She’s still loyal to a fault to the local Reds & Bungles, tho. Gonna be a LONG year or two in South Beach. I just hope they aren’t tanking for the wrong guy (Tua or any of the others available next year) and hold off until 2021 to get the kid from Clemson. He could be the next Marino that we’ve swung and missed on for the last three plus decades. He’d look DAMN GOOD in teal and orange. GO DODGERS!!!

Sammy Watkins & Patrick Mahomes were hooking up big-time for KC. LeSean McCoy looks like a good addition. He & Damien Williams might make a good tandem. They've revamped their defense too. It's sunny in KC.

More ugliness in Miami. Fans are calling for the head of owner Stephen Ross along with the entire coaching staff and players. Never been a fan of Ross since he bought the team. Too much like Mike Brown here in Cincy. All about his “bottom line”.
I don’t know if I ever posted this - but the uncle of mine that lived in Miami when I was a kid and brought me home that Bob Griese jersey (which in turn made me a Fins fan) also lived in Boston for a few years before moving south.
I sometimes wonder why he couldn’t have brought me a Patriots jersey! I’d have certainly had a much better team to root for over the past few decades. But the 70’s Pats pretty much sucked so I guess there was some logic to his purchase once he got to Miami.
And no matter what, I don’t think any team will ever have the perfect season the Fins had.
But we’ve got a long and fugly next couple of years before we find out if their current master plan of accumulating draft picks is going to materialize into something South Beach can once again cheer about.
I just hope another title is within my lifetime. My right shoulder has been waiting for the team logo tattoo so long, it’s changed three times!
GO PHINS 2022!!!

GO PHINS 2022!!! 43-0 is about as fugly as it gets & I feel for you. Patrick Mahomes doesn't even need a running game. Amazing generational talent. 31 total yards on the ground. Mahomes goes 30-44 for 443 yards, four touchdowns & no interceptions. They win 28-10 against Ray's Raiders. Week 1 Sammy Watkins was the 'chief' beneficiary. This time it was Demarcus Robinson for 172 yards on 6 catches. Travis Kelce had 107 on 7. Maybe they don't need Tyreek Hill. Good. The Chargers lost 13-10 to the Lions. Koreman's Steelers lost 28-26 to Seattle. JR's wife's Ravens won 23-17 over the Cardinals. The Rams took the Saints 27-9. Looking really good. Bulldog's Jets lost 23-3 to the Browns.

Another week of futility for the boys from South Beach. Mahomes shows Jackson what he needs to work on for a possible rematch in January. The Eli era in New York appears to be terminal. Teddy B shows the Hawks that there’s more to the Saints than Brees.
Carolina looks like a completely different (winning) team with Cam on the bench. The Bolts and Bucs both choke away wins. The Bungles continue to bumble. Home teams dominated today. Lots of undefeated, lots of winless.

This time Mahomes decides to make Travis Kelce the 'chief' recipient of his passing largesse. 89 yards on 7 catches. Mecole Hardman actually had the most yards with 97 yards on just two catches. One a touchdown bomb that Hardman caught in stride. Sammy Watkins had 64 yards on 5 catches. Demarcus Robinson & LeSean McCoy also caught TD passes. Does Mahones have a pick yet? I don't think so. The Chiefs beat the JR.s wife's Ravens 33-28 to remain undefeated. The NFL has officially entered the Patrick Mahomes Era. Dolphins lose 31-6 to the Cowboys. The Raiders lose 34-14 to the Vikings. The Jets lose 30-14 to the Patriots. Chargers lose 27-20 to the Texans. Koreman's Steelers (talked to him just the other day) lost 24-20 to the 49ers. Rams beat the Browns 20-13.

Chiefs vary their attack & run for all three offensive TD's. Mahomes still went 24-42 for 315 yards & no interceptions. KC beat Detroit 34-30. They're now 4-0.
Raiders beat the Colts 31-24. They're 2-2.
Chargers over the Dolphins 30-10. They're 2-2 & 0-4, respectively.
Ravens lose to the Browns 40-25. Both 2-2.
Rams lose a shootout to Tampa Bay by a score of 55-40. Jared Goff went 45-68 for 517 yards. Just 2 TD's & 3 picks though. Gurley led LA with 16 rushing yards. The Rams fall to 3-1.
Jets didn't play.
Steelers go against the Bengals tonight.

The tank job continues in South Beach, but you just know these clowns are going to win a few games and screw themselves out of the #1 overall pick. That’s fine with me because I’m not a big fan of Tua (who is pretty much the consensus #1). I’ve BEEN to Tuscaloosa a number of times. It’s a HOLE. I’ve also been to Hawaii twice. It’s PARADISE. So I don’t understand why anyone would leave paradise to play football in such a dump of a city like Tuscaloosa, AL. Of course, this is all “tongue in cheek”, but I’m still not convinced he’s the “answer to all our prayers”. Same with Hurst and the kid from Oregon. Nope - I’ve got my sights on Big Trevor out of Clemson and if it takes two years of tanking, I’m okay with that. Kid has it ALL!!! GO DODGERS!!!

Vontaze Burfict getting the rest of the year off I see. I guess repeat offenders get ZERO tolerance in the league now. Didn’t see the hit, but I have seen more than a few “protect the QB” shots that were just good tackles, IMHO.
Just put electronic devices or flags on them so the minute they are touched or flags are pulled the play is over. I’m all for protecting players, but it’s getting pretty ridiculous. Football is a violent sport and if you want to ensure your future and health, don’t play football.

And yes - it was helmet to helmet. I’m not sticking up for the guy, but when a player is running full blast at another, how are they supposed to stop on a dime and avoid hitting them when the opposing player goes down and lowers his head to a position that is unavoidable? When I played, it was a “mark of battle” to get some paint from another helmet o yours. Our coaches TAUGHT helmet to helmet hitting and on more than a few occasions would grab two of us by our face masks and clunk our helmets together. The game has become a joke with all of the penalties and again, while I understand protecting the players, this is a violent game being played by enormous men. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. GO DODGERS!!!

KC Chefs & LA Lambs looking very ordinary yesterday with both losing at home. Are the Niners that good or was LA over rated to start the season? Mahomes has been hobbling for a couple of weeks, so they at least have a reason for their stumbles.
Phins find another way to lose by going for the two point conversion on the last play after Fitz rallied them to two fourth quarter TD’s. Even if the receiver catches that ball, there is ZERO chance he makes it to the end zone as half the Washington defense was standing there ready to tackle him.
Lamar sets a new NFL record against the hapless local Bungles who will fight to the end with Miami for the worst record and 2020 number one pick.
Cowgirls drop late afternoon game to the previously winless Jets.
Tennessee and Mariota so bad they turn to Ryan Tannehill who on consecutive drives did EXACTLY what I called he would do, based on his previous tenure in Miami.
Took a huge sack for loss on third down and then on the next drive threw an interception into the end zone.
Saints continue to win with Brees on the sideline and another Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater running the show. Guess Teddy was smart to say “thanks, but no thanks” to the Phins.
Green Bay gets not one, but TWO phantom “hands to the face” calls tonight to complete comeback against the Lions. Refs have been VERY bad this year and even with replay, have let many calls “stand” when they were obviously wrong.
GO DODGERS!!!

Rut row, Shaggy! Mahomes goes down with an injury to his right knee. NFL Network reporting knee was “popped back into place”.
Had the same thing happen to me back in the day playing softball when stretching out an infield hit having the first base bag “slide” just as my left foot impacted it.
Knee hyperextended and popped so loud they heard it all the way on our third base bench. Got carried off; popped it back in. Had a couple beers; drove to a friends house (with a manual five speed); had pizza, a few more beers and a couple Vics before heading home.
Woke up the next morning with a knee the size of a bowling ball. Tore both the ACL & MCL; laser surgery two days later and eight months of heavy rehab three days a week.
Hope Mahomes injury doesn’t end up as bad as mine. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
GO DODGERS!!!
