I'm not really a beer drinker. It's so filling & seems a waste of good drinking time. But I understand a lot of people swear by it & I'm a bartender. Please list your favorite beers here.

My wife is REALLY into these new micro breweries and a huge fan of IPA’s (India Pale Ales). I am not and think most of them taste like an ashtray smells. For an everyday beer, my fallback is and probably always will be Miller Lite. Also am a fan of Michelob Light (NOT ULTRA), but it’s a little hard to find most places. Standard Coors (not Light) also works. My heavier favs include Heineken (regular & light), Stella Artois and anything LaBatt’s (Blue, Blue Light, Blue Light Lime) and Warsteiner Oktoberfest (only available a month or so each year). While in Hawaii, we discovered both Primo and Kona (Longboard Lager & Big Wave are my two favs). A bit more potent due to their use of rice rather than barley, but very tasty. Lastly and pretty much limited to their island origins, Kalik from the Bahamas and Balashi from Aruba are highly recommended. Kalik, according to locals contains cocaine in small amounts and their gold label a higher content. Not sure how true that is, but last time in Nassau I had a few too many and we almost missed our ship departure because we couldn’t tell which one was ours. And my wife, who is heavily allergic to all codine products broke out everywhere and pretty much had to stay in our cabin the rest of the cruise. One other thing - we HIGHLY prefer draft beer over cans or bottles. GO DODGERS!!!

"Kalik, according to locals contains cocaine in small amounts and their gold label a higher content." Count me in. We were in one of the local shops, each with a gold label double deuce and the sales lady commented something to the effect of “crazy white boys drinking the gold”, then winking & laughing. I can honestly say I’ve NEVER been so effed up on a few beers as I was that day nor since. I also believe it is why it is not available or imported to the continental US. It used to be available down here in Florida, but this year we haven’t even seen the blue label, let alone the gold. GO DODGERS!!!

Stella is number one for me, the only beer I drink really. I despise domestic beer, my preference is European lagers for sure.
Beer may be the single greatest invention ever.

I either read or heard from someone that the people of Belgium (where it originated) consider Stella as “swill”. Not sure why or what their others choices are there, but I found it amusing. I’ve been a fan since it first showed up over here and I prefer the draft, although I usually have to wait for the inch plus head to go down that most bars around here insist on. Once that happens, I have it topped off and enjoy. Never had it out of bottles or cans but have friends that advise it’s not quite as good that way. But as I said, I prefer draft over the others every day of the week. GO DODGERS!!!

Yes, Stella in Europe does not have the same reputation as it does here. I’ve heard that as well.
I usually drink it out of bottles but a fresh keg with clean lines is excellent. Ordering draft beer can be risky sometimes. I can taste the difference if the lines aren’t maintained and the glasses aren’t rinsed thoroughly. Our bowling alley has excellent Stella on tap, the golf club has it in bottles. Both work for me 😃

Luckily, the haunts we usually hit that have Stella on draft (Red Robin & Outback) both do an excellent job with their taps and lines. Never gotten a bad one at either & both serve it icy so that last drink is as cold as the first. GO DODGERS!!!

Outback has a good Stella on tap, as does millers ale house.
Funny story - the guy who got me to try Stella was actually dwoo. Now it’s the only thing I drink. Whether it’s after my round of golf or before my bowling league the bartender serves me a Stella even before I need to ask. It’s automatic 😃

I actually had a few decent convos with the guy from time to time. But mostly, he was a total douche. There was a Millers Ale House in Destin, FL this year which we hit a few weeks ago. GREAT burgers. They had my fav Kona (Longboard) on tap, so I had to have a couple of those. The wife drank every local IPA she could try down there. Only one or two she didn’t really care for. GO DODGERS!!!

Tonight is poker night, I’ll definitely have a few Stella’s. Now I’m getting thirsty....
