Still may happen, and to reiterate from my earlier post, "I posted the old guys scores (Vijay the first post) to show that 50+ guys can still play, and it was for the benefit of posters on this site, I'm guessing half 50+ themselves, yourself included I believe." Through 36 holes: Made cut - Bernhard Langer (60) Tie 40th w/ Tiger, Freddy Couples (58) Tie 28th, Vijay Singh (55) Tie 23rd, can still play. Missed cut by just one stroke at +6 - Sandy Lyle (60) and Jose Maria Olazabal (great name!!!) (52). They can still play too. All those guys (Langer twice) have won The Masters in the past, and as such will be able to play in the tournament until they die. And, they get to wear the Green Jacket, as members of a very select club. The 36 hole leader, Patrick Reed, at 9 under, idolizes Tiger Woods. As a salute to Tiger, he wears red shirt and black pants on every Sunday round he qualifies for on tour.

www.golfchannel.com/article/golf-central-blog/reed-69-wont-be-wearing-red-if-he-makes-it-sunday/Patrick Reed, who has worn a red shirt and black pants on Sundays as an ode to Tiger Woods since his junior golf days, will instead go with a pink shirt on Sunday if he makes the cut. "...... Reed was asked if the decision to switch shirt colors was connected to Woods’ return to the Masters as a competitor for the first time since 2015, but he explained it was a decision by his sponsor Nike Golf. “They're doing a new thing where all the players stay in the same kind of story line,” Reed said. “All the players will either be in dark blue or gray, grayish black today and yesterday and then all of us will be in the same color tomorrow and Saturday and Sunday.” --------------------- Dumb.

But they have zero chance of winning this tournament this week. you refused to acknowledge how important distance off the tee is on this golf course. #1 - its long #2 - the longer hitters light up the par 5s #3 - the greens are hard and fast, players must come in with higher shots the only guy you mentioned who is long enough is Freddy. Maybe Vijay. And they don't have the game for it anymore. this is apples and oranges as compared to what Watson did a few years ago at the British Open.

I root for them too, but they have no chance on that golf course. Probably. Remember Watson at/near 60 yrs old not too long ago had I believe a 9 iron or wedge in his hand on 2nd shot into 72nd hole of the British Open, and just needed to get down in 3 to win it!!! You never know. If I recall correctly, every one of those old guys above has won the Masters before. I think at least one of that group excluding Lyle will be on the leader board Sunday. BOOK IT!!!!! This is what I'm responding to. I know they can still play. they won't be on the leaderboard though. That would be a miracle.

I believe in miracles. Like both Reed and Rory. I'll take Rory, but no disappointment if Reed takes it. Two horse race? This is the Masters, and for some reason it always get's tight come the back nine on Sunday. Only runaway I remember is Tiger's first win, won by 12, 20 yrs ago.
