What a drag it is getting old! I used to consider myself ugly - especially since I had to hear it daily from other dudes in junior / high school. I had an accident on a bike when I was very young that basically tore the bottom of my face off. I ended up with @ 50 stitches and lips that looked like I’d gone 12 rounds with Ali. Someone came up with the name “Fishlips” which quickly morphed into “Fishhead”. I didn’t care much for either. The swelling never did go away but I didn’t mind and today both men and women pay thousands for Botox to enhance their lips. I got mine for free. The thing is - I ALWAYS had very hot girls / women from junior high on. Now I realize some of it had to do with being a musician and singer in a number of bands because, well, much like the long ball, chicks dig musicians. But I also have a wry sense of humor that to this day is why my wife has stuck around for nearly 30 years, even through some of my band “groupies” that I just could say no to. Especially the mother and daughter that climbed into the front seat of my Ford P/U with me between sets one night in Indiana. My hair used to be dirty blond and down to my ass; I was tall, skinny and could sing anything from Journey to ZZ Top and like Rich Little, manipulate my voice to match whoever we were covering. I VERY easily could have ended up in one of the strip “hair bands” in the early 80’s if I had only brought one of my axes with me that summer I spent hanging out at most of the clubs (Roxy, Whiskey’s, etc.). Probably saw and hung with most of those guys like Crüe, Poison, LA Guns, etc. before any of them were much more than guys that played for free every night just to get laid. Mission accomplished. Now I’m looking at 60, have a pretty decent paunch and keep my head cropped because that blond is all grey these days. I can still sing and play, but those high notes are getting harder and harder to hit, especially if I go for a few weeks without practicing. No kids (that I know of) to continue the legacy, but that was by choice and I don’t think I or the wife would change a thing if we could go back. We’ve been places we’d have never gone to and had / have every toy we’ve ever wanted. Two years left on our mortgage and a little over that on our Benz and we are debt free. That will be sweet! GO DODGERS!!! Glad I had kids. I'm not religious (although I've read) because I take comfort in no God. There is no heaven & hell. You just die & that's it. Nothing. Who is afraid of nothing? What kind of a wuss is afraid of nothing? I take comfort in no God, because I've done some awful things no one wants to be held accountable for. That's Mom's conscience. Damn her. Nothing after we die. That feels better. I have never mocked anyone for their belief system though. Whatever gets you through the night. I steered my brother towards a church because he needed it. Put my daughter through parochial school because I went through gladiator academy & she was "yellow" & growing up in Inglewood. There is no God. This is what we make of it. Earth can be heaven if we really want it to be. Then we return to Earth. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. When I would get really depressed about & curse God, I would curse God & ask why I was born. Then look at Tessa & realize there was a higher purpose. She doesn't know I feel this way. Better off leaving that alone. Her mother scored a bullseye when she figured that out though. Bitch. You said I could have other women. But how do you square your athiesm with Tommy Lasorda's statement, "GOD is a Dodger fan"?

I'm an agnostic with atheistic tendencies. Isn't that how Dwoo put it?
Mom was religious. Her father was a minister. She was the youngest of ten children. Then the minister booked with another woman. That left Mom & aunt Margie to care for their mother until she finally died, screaming at the age of 50, from ovarian cancer. I could see how she would be religious. And it seemed to do Mom more good than her mother, because she slipped into a coma first.
Dad was an Indian stay out of WWI free card for his father. He never knew his mother. Guess her hanging around wasn't part of the deal. I've visited Grandpa's grave in Inglewood & resisted the urge to urinate on it.
Quite a pair they were, Mom & Dad. Married 48 years, until the day he died. Conflicting values they imparted.

That was fine, but he could take the simplest issue and then go on a long, rambling monologue, trying to intellectualize it. I'd bet his IQ was well above average, but he reminded me of the kid whose nose was always in a book and had a hard time interacting with the other kids. Why was he banned, do you know? I know he insulted your daughter, though he vehemently denied it.

I reported the shit out of him one time, right after returning to the MLB board. He had been reading my posts at the other site & came rightc after me. That's fine. Baiting DW had become something of a sport. But this time he knew my mother had just died. He rubbed it in. Who does that? So I actually called someone that time. The next day he came back with another account & cried a river of crocodile tears that he had lost an account with over 9,000 posts. I was like - 'What? Me? NOOO! I would NEVER do anything that dastardly.' Just remembering that brought a smile to my face. But Chuck really had a woody for Dwoo. He could be mean too. Vindictive. Dwoo kept speaking disparagingly about Chuck's site. Turns out he had a good point about Chuck being controlling. The Prediction Master was due to get one right. Chuck wanted me to go defend him. Ummm...go fuck yourself?

Thinking about the way Chuck played Benny Platt. I already told the story of our get together. How I walked away from Benny. But Chuck was calling New York to get Benny fired. He gave me the phone number to do it too. Although I didn't like Benny, that seemed a bit much. But Chuck must have led Benny to believe (they kept rerouting the calls to Benny) I was leading the insuurectuon. I found out the day Chuck wanted me to defend him & his board at the MLB site.
Anyone remember ThinkBlueBleedBlue? He too got kicked off Chuck's board because his politics were too liberal for Chuck's tastes. You don't ban people for having differing opinions. You WANT differing opinions. It stirs debate. I told Chuck he was making a mistake.
Well, TBBB got the boot & was venting on the MLB board. Dwoo was all over that. I was thoroughly disillusioned with Chuck. He had banned Zeph for being smarter than him. Then he had that "poll" thread, asking if we should be allowed to call Dodgers names. What next? A good old fashioned book burning? Chuck was targeting Utah & Bcmaiden on that one. They were in every gameday thread & were very emotional. Kinda stupid in Utah's case. I liked Elaine. Utah I could have done without. But are we to be censored? I presented another opinion. Isn't this OURdodgers? Why are you even asking? Chuck lost the poll & implemented the filter anyway.
This day though I'm watching & was mildly amused. Chuck emails me talking about the old days & how I would defend him. He posted a link to the MLB board & the thread trashing his site. I asked what his point was. Then TBBB posted an email he had gotten from Benny. Benny was 100% convinced I was the ringleader. At THAT juncture I chimed in. No, I did no such thing. You've been had.
But for all I know Chuck got Benny fired. Then he lured him over to his site so he could post his stories there. Chuck also found out who TBBB was & that he taught for a living. He threatened to turn him in for posting during class. That really scared him. Chuck tried threatening me too. Obviously that didn't go over the way he expected. I told him I had never been to Texas. If I come to visit, can you put a buddy up? I can sleep on the couch like Ken did.(Bluinatl). It got real quiet.
For a while we posted at a site called ClubDodgers. Kathy (brigetjones) found it. They only had three regular posters. I told Mario I can bring you 20 more. The catch is they're going to be pissed. Let them vent. Give them ONE thread to introduce themselves & get it out of their systems. We did that for a while, until Chuck & Djwriter joined & threatened Mario with a lawsuit. I assured him Chuck couldn't afford that scotch guzzling lawyer from The Simpsons. But what really killed that site was Mario not accepting opinions other than his own. He got into a fight with mikeatnite, over politics. He took a shot at Mike (really nice guy) & closed the thread. Then something else occurred to him, so he reopened the thread, took another parting shot, & closed it again. I told him in private that when we're on that board we're equals. You can't do that shit. Mario didn't like my opinion anymore than Mike's. Too bad. We left & the site died.

And you're right, he's a far out lefty and would be idolized by Bernie Sanders. You're really strolling down memory lane aren't you? I remember UtahDodger, IowaDodger, and DodgerNicole. They were all good posters. But who could forget PanicAttack and his alter ego Sgt. Friday, and others he used? He had a love/hate thing for Andre Ethier and wanted everyone to know it.

Carey's big bozoomed avatar. That was a classic. Chuck IP tracked me. He would tell me this stuff. It led to a school several blocks away. Carey was a teacher. It occured to me Chuck thought I was Carey. What a loon. Panic had at least one thread asking which Dodger had the best body. His stuff was always wildly over the top.

Tough night at work, but welcome nonetheless. It was a wedding reception. Really hot women. Over 100 people. They had drink tickets. Meaning it was an open bar. Sometimes there are time limits on the freebies. Not tonight. You know they slammed me anyway? I probably did about $2,000 in sales in the first 2.5 hours. Naturally that's when all the food servers my boss wanted me to tip out disappeared. My schedule has nothing to do with theirs'. Dinner is still served at the same time. Why do they always disappear? These guys get a percentage of my sales on their checks. I get nothing from them. I don't hate them. Just don't anyone make demands of me. You're riding my vapor trail already.
My boss used to chide me about showing up too early. My experience showed tonight. The customers were 20 minutes early. See? This is why I do it. I had to free pour & he watched me. Okay. Fuck off. You want to get dainty with a jigger & 15 people standing in line? Write me up & then find a better bartender.
Jorge displayed his usual Larry Tate from Bewitched suck-ass sycophantic behavior when I gave him a list of things we need after he finally got off break. I got no breaks that couldn't be interrupted as a supervisor. Jorge told me the party ends at 10:00. Just let it ride. He came back approximately 20 minutes later with more Bud Lite. Manny (no doubt still smarting from being supplanted as their #1 bartender) said the customers were coming downstairs to get Bud Lite. Like he couldn't use the tips or a break from serving bowls of soup. Catty bitch. Jorge showed up shortly thereafter with Bud Lite.
"You didn't tell me they needed Bud Lite."
Deadpan...
"I gave you a list Jorge. You said to let it ride."
"But it didn't include Bud Lite."
"So Bud Lite is the magic word?"
"If you just would have told me..."
I walked away. He disgusts me.
Made $204 in tips & gave the DISHWASHER $10.00 for hauling down my garbage. I pay for work done.
Then joked with the bartenders from the main bar before leaving. I've been drinking about a half an hour now.

Btw - a few nights ago, while arguing with rednecks who call themselves conservatives, I got so blind drunk I stepped on a rifle I had cleaned but left on the floor. Right on the bolt. It punched a hole through the sole of my foot & left a bad bruise. Notwithstanding the irony of a gun-toting liberal (spits!), who else would have worked in that condition?
Just shuddup & be glad you have me.

I might get suspended, or even fired for free pouring right in front of my real boss the night of the last party. Normally I put the jigger up as decoration. That night it got so busy, so fast, I didn't even think of it until my boss dropped some supplies off & just stood there watching until the only other choice I had was to reach down & retrieve the jigger, or continue on as usual. To me, the former would be more insulting than breaking the rules while you watch. Oh, you think I'm stupid?
If I'm gone, okay. A suspension would be much better though. Make an example of me, give me time to think about what I did, & for my foot to heal. Eddie can cover till I get back. He's better than Manny anyway.

We take our entertainment where we find it.
Two small events today. Both just beer & wine & hosted. Jorge is working the other one, so you know it's easy.
When I arrived our boss asked if I wanted to bring down the front or back half of the bar. Huh? It's only beer & wine.
"I'll go with both."
We need both actually. The front to serve on. The back for glassware. I just looked in at Jorge's setup. No back bar. Ain't saying a damn thing. This should be funny.

$74.00 for popping the top off beer bottles so far.
$3.00 for Jorge. Guess interacting actually helps.

Wound up $79.00 to $4.00.
Just talked to my brother. He wants $1,000 to move to Tucson to live in a motel. What can I say? It's his money.
