Acted like an ass towards my old girlfriend today. Ashley's mother. Felt really bad about it too. She didn't seem to be getting it any other way. She made me late for work. She had a very nonchalant attitude towards my work. I couldn't help but think it's this shitty attitude 0f yours' that had me firing your ass so many years ago. She had me searching all over South-Central for a marijuana dispensary & she had no idea of it's location. The Spanish speaking shop owners we quizzed picked up on my impatience by the rolling eyes & constantly looking at my watch. "Maybe it's on 48 & Normandie." "And if it is we'll drive right past. I am LEAVING!" Of course I couldn't really leave a cripple out there by herself. She's had two aneurysms & a stroke. I DID need to send the message I'm tired of this game though. I threw my keys in the street in disgust. I was five minutes late for work, which my supervisor wasted no time in pointing out. The two Heinekens I had accidentally dumped into the garden (along with the ice from a beer cooler) at the end of a nightmarish Nigerian party had now morphed into three or four. "As the legend grows, eh?" Even he had to laugh at that one. Another classic! LOVE these work tales! Good stuff! GO DODGERS!!!

Just got off the phone with her & told her I was eleven minutes late & got written up. She seemed apologetic. I know her though. She added that maybe it's time I left this job. Yup. That's 100% her. Marginalize you maybe costing me my job by saying it isn't all that. I told her next time google whatever it is you're looking for first. Put your zip code in & a map appears. I honestly don't think she realized you can do that.

Really wish she would stop kissing my ass. It's embarrassing & I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. What she really wants.

So worked a Mexican party last night. $169.00 in tips. From the moment I walked in everyone was kissing my ass. Made me suspicious.
A fluke accident gave me some clue. I'm the only bartender that empties the beer cooler of ice water. The rest let mildew build up. I'm wheeling the beer cooler out of my boss's office & it hits on the side of the door opening. Someone had broken the plug that holds the ice water plug in & jerry-rigged it with wire. Water spilled all over the floor. Where did the water come from if not from melted ice water? I don't leave ice in the cooler. What happened between me last Saturday & this Saturday? My boss was vague.
As usual, I bonded with the customers. The thought I had been lied to facilitated that. There was a convoluted billing system open to rife. But I'm just a simple bartender & would know nothing about such things.
The assistant manager is a bit of a simp, & it wasn't hard to corner him. Maybe there was or wasn't an event I wasn't given priority status over. I figure he worked it. He's stupid & lazy & that would explain the melted ice water & his lame excuse. Idiot.
The crux is I'm being discriminated against because I'm 60 & English speaking first. My boss is scared of me because of what I can do with that. He knows I know how to exploit it. I've been in his position before. He created this situation.
Right now my choice is to wait him out. I got his cousin transferred. I'm too old for these battles. My mother was honest as the days are long. She is my conscience. But I was thoroughly disillusioned by Mom giving up towards the end. I will fight until God takes my last breath. F you to anyone who thinks I'm old & feeble & they can take advantage of me.

Welcome to work-a-day life in the new millennia. So glad Reagan (former president of The Screen Actors Guild) saw fit to lead us down that union busting road. They never did anything for us. Like 8 hour days & 40 hour work weeks. Sick leave & vacation time. Maternity leave. It got uncle Ronnie a gig on General Electric Theater though. That's what's really important. Reagan was never a "union buster". As you said in your next post, unions have shot themselves in the foot and have been on a gradual decline since the mid-50s. Still, they've done much good, like the 40 hour week and benefits. I'm just pointing out that it's not fair to label Reagan a union buster. They're declining as a percentage of the work force regardless of who's the prez, as the overall economy generally works, regardless of who's in the white house.

Most other unions are private and they can strike, and the gov't has no authority over them. PATCO is different.

How about Reagan selling his constituency out on the subject of residuals on television re-runs of their old movies, & then coincidentally landing a gig as host of General Electric Theater right after? Or selling some craggy land on his Malibu ranch to friends of the people who landed him the gig on General Electric Theater? Then, as governor of California, he had Parks & Recreations buy that craggy land back, at an inflated price. Sheer happenstance. He also courted Jackie Presser of the Teamsters to get the Teamsters' vote. Corrupt you say? Then why was uncle Ronnie courting their vote? No, Reagan was one of the dirtiest presidents in our history. He helped facilitate the flooding of our inner city streets with crack. When it started to seep out to the white suburbs, his wife told us to just say no to drugs. Very ironic.

I don't know much about him before he was prez, but as for him "helping" to sell crack, I say BULL. That's nothing more than supply and demand. And if the drug pushers push too hard to the threat of violence, it's them you should be pointing the accusing finger at. Liberals today love the word "HATE", so why not apply it where it belongs, at the criminals pushing drugs, commiting murder, car jacking, drive bys, fatherless homes and all the rest? Dirty presidents? Well if he was, he had plenty of company. FDR, LBJ, Nixon and Obama come to mind.

Check out how the state department protected Jose Blandon too. He supplied Ricky Ross.

Fair enough. Politics in general is divisive. I've lost two facebook friends cos I despise Obama and they called me racist. This is the most polarizing time in USA history and no single dem or rep is responsible, but the system.

Worked a birthday party last night. I acted sort of schizophrenic. Not sure what was up with that. Maybe in part because my boss was acting weird. He has said on NUMEROUS occasions I am not to leave the bar unattended. So I try to hand him the ice bucket & say I need more wine too. He tells me to go get it. Hmmm. Okay.
I come back & he's pouring drinks, & free pouring at that. I have been reamed over & over for free pouring. I slip in behind him & tell him to use the damn jigger. For some reason I got the feeling he didn't appreciate that. Prima donna.
