This scandal has been a hoax from the get-go. Ford is recalling a supposed incident that happened 36 years ago, and in high school? First of all, she needs to let it go, if by the very slight chance it did happen.
Legal experts say she was a very credible witness, but all that means is that she answered the questions forthrightly and without hesitation, not that she told the truth. But consider these factors:
1 "I'm terrified" she said at the start, which means her heart was pounding and her blood pressure was pretty high. Yet, after a few minutes, she asked for coffee. No one in that state would ask for a stimulant.
2 After about half an hour, she was smiling and laughing
3 After the break, she was drinking a coke. If she was terrified, she had to have a cotton mouth. A carbonated soda with sugar would only make it worse
4 is the report by the attorney Rachel Mitchell critiquing her. There were so many inconsistencies, like when this happened and who drove her home.
5 Ford claimed that both Brett and Mark were "pinballing" down the stairs. How could she know that if she was in the bathroom with the door closed?
6 She called a friend on her cell phone. This was in 1982, and cell phones didnt' exist yet! And at that, they weren't in common usage till about the turn of the millenium.
7 A body language expert really picked her apart. Body language says so much more than words. One example is that creaky voice. She just inclined her chin so it touched her chest to achieve that affect. And she had that sad face, and tried to cry, but I for one didn't see a single tear.
And those who believe her cite Kavanagh's angry speech before any questioning. I for one would be angry too, if I was falsely accused of such a terrible thing. Everyone has a line you better not cross. For me personally, I'm normally very polite and friendly, but if I'm falsely accused of anything, you better watch out!
This "believe women" thing is so stupid, implying "never believe men in their defense". All this public protesting is accomplishing nothing but snarling up traffic and making people mad at them.
I remember thinking about a month ago, "I wonder if there'll be some scandal intended to discredit this good man?", and viola!
Ruth Ginsberg has to retire soon, and I truly hope that Judge Jeanie Pirro is the next justice!
