Flame throwers such as these guys don't last long & ya'll have to admit Jansen at age 30, losing 4-5 mph off of fastball & cutter is done! Kenley will never be the same, he needs to worry about his health not baseball...
How is that John Axford (a bum hanging on, NOT sure why they even got him) trade line deal working out, LMFAO. When Andrew Miller was available I thought he was the best guy to add, a great lefty & 8th inning set up guy or to give Kenley a rest once in a while... BUT NOOOOooooooo, The brain trusts have ignored the setup guy & Jansen has finally worn down with NO, not even close replacement in minors!!! Morrow & Jansen wore down in WS last year & the FO refused to acquire ANY HELP & went gambled on another former starter Koehler who wasn't even that good & broke down before season started...
It's a shame cause getting Machado & Dozier gives us a potent offense even though guys that had great year last year are struggling, but hopefully the FO DOESN'T IGNORE the fact the BP needs at least 2 studs (lefty/righty) Baez has disappointed once again with his HR gifts, Garcia is not ready & we keep bringing up duds from minors, very sad to think our minor system hasn't fallen & we can't keep arms ready or taught. Something is wrong with minor league priorities in coaching or drafting cause the guys we drafted aren't near ready, plenty have dropped out of top 30. Well, ya can't win it every year. I'm not a fan of Freidman, I think he's full of BS & highly overpaid!!!

________
Jansen is not a flamethrower, you have him miscategorized.
He throws a cutter, the same pitch that Mariano threw for a hundred years. The same pitch that made that guy a first ballot HOFer.
Not saying he's Mariano, just correcting your evaluation of what he throws.

Up three - does Kenley get another shot tonight? If so, letâs hope that cutter starts cutting like it used to. GO DODGERS!!!

Kenley also has the benefit of not having thrown as many innings coming up as others have. He came up as a catcher and was only converted to a reliever later on in his minor league career. He will be fine.

Weâre going to need a helluva lot better than that out of Jansen over the next couple of weeks. A win is a win, but for đ©đ©đ© sake, he is all over the place.
Not sure if they get the DP there even with a throw Bellinger can catch, but you canât continue to put runners on base in the ninth, game after game and not expect them to score.
Kenleyâs confidence looks shot to hell. Lucky the offense showed up tonight.
GO DODGERS!!!

He will be fine. I agree, Kenley will be fine, but this year, he hasn't really had his bearings, what with a late start, heart problems, having to get his bearings again. He's had a few good saves in a row lately and he'll really step up for us while we eliminate the Rockies and in the playoffs and world series. Next April, he'll be stronger than ever!

Thanks to the O for those insurance runs in the ninth. Jansen with another gopher ball to Pollack. Two Kâs, but heâs going to have to stop serving up those long balls, especially in one run games.
We continue to roll, but so do the Rox. Thought the Phils would put up a little fight. Still prefer our position and match-ups over theirs, but it looks like the best we can hope for is popping the champagne in SF. And that ainât all bad!

Kenley in to blow the two hit shut out with two moon shots. Dude has issues! GO DODGERS!!! Don't worry about it! I reallly think it's his heart problem, which he'll get surgery on this winter. Remember, he had a late start this year, righted the ship and was the Kenley we all know, went on the DL with his heart problem and, I admit, hasnt been himself this year. Next year, he'll be better than ever.

Can we trust him THIS year? Weâve got 11 more wins to get for the long overdue title and weâre not going to have five run leads heading into the ninth for all (or maybe ANY) of them. Do we trust him in the ninth (or possibly eighth and ninth) in a tie or with a one or two run lead? He hasnât seemed the same to me since he blew Game 2 against the Astros last year. He had streaks this year where he looked like the old Kenley. But heâs also been erratic at times and unable to put batters away like he used to. He had an 0 - 2 count the other night and then ended up hitting the batter on the elbow on the very next (third) pitch. Very few of his appearances have been without a hit or a walk or some type of base runner. Thatâs not the dominant Jansen we know. He was much like Gange - game over if he got the ball with a lead in the ninth. Now he seems very hittable with a cutter that doesnât always cut and when that happens, balls are getting hit into the stands. I understand his ticker has been and is a concern; but if his head isnât in the game then maybe the rest of him shouldnât be either. The two HRâs today came on a first pitch and ninth pitch. Guys are going up there either hacking immediately or seeing enough pitches that they are able to âtime upâ his fast ball. And he just doesnât seem to be able to throw that âput awayâ pitch when he gets two strikes like he used to. I know we are counting on him to close games out and I donât know if we have any alternatives - Maeda blew one with a HR in the tenth just a few days ago. It gives me pause. GO DODGERS!!!
