Good thing they were all HRs, we might have only scored 1 or 2 if they were not.
Here are some numbers for you to take a look at.
Yankees are 1st in HRs in MLB with 163. They have a .640 win pct., on pace for 104 wins.
Red Sox are 2nd in MLB with 143 HRs, A .689 win pct., on pace for 112 wins.
3rd is Oakland, in wild card hunt. On pace for 94 wins.
4th is Cleveland. 1st place.
Dodgers 1st in NL with 139. 1st place.

There was a game about a month ago, we hit six homers, yet scored only seven runs in the game, and hung on to win. We won't win many games that way. Won't win many games scoring 7 runs? I disagree. Good thing they were all HRs, we might have only scored 1 or 2 if they were not.

I was thinking the same thing when I read this, dog. Seven runs (whether by solo HR or otherwise) is going to win us a LOT more games than not, especially with our rotation and fairly decent and reliable bullpen. I’d say the one exception to that would be Coors Field, where a lot of times NO lead is safe much of the time, including seven. GO DODGERS!!! |

Scored 8 today on one homer.
My original comment was on a league wide phenomena. It isn't just the Dodgers doing it. This week my fantasy league team has hit 22 homeruns & has 49 RBI's. How many solo shots? Without sifting through box scores, I see at least eleven.

I disagree that 7 solo HRs won't win many games. The game today is all about HRs, the more the better. That is proven. Don't care if there is a single in front of one or if they go back to back. The runs are the same. |

But HRs still are the way to wn right now, that's obvious. The teams that don't hit them are terrible. |
