First of all I apologize for my absence from this board. I have been pretty busy with work and other things in life. I guess the news of Machado has somewhat kicked up my interest in the team again. I have been watching but not as much as in previous years. Enough on that.
I have noticed that in my absence, we lost a lot of posters including some moderators. One thing I hate in these message boards are people that dish it out but are not able to take it when its dished back. There were plenty of complaints in my admin box and frankly I found all the complaints to be nothing short of comedy. If there was a legitimate case of one sided bullying and such, then yes I would definitely act. The problem that I see is that alot of the complainers dished it out in the forum and complained about it to the moderation. Really? I hear they started a strict message board where over moderation is the name of the game. Good for them. For everyone else who is still here, I am opening up this board to the public and pretty much re writing the rules. I was never a heavy handed moderator to begin with (mostly because I wasn't here) so feel free to be free. Leave the moderation to those folks who can't take criticism.
For those of you still here, have fun, be free and make suggestions. I'm open to any changes even removing swear filters. We are all adults. Leave the moderation tot he easily offended.
One last thing, I have deleted the PM feature. If you can't say it on the board, there is no need to say it via PM. You are still able to contact the Moderators though:)

Welcome back, Ray - all of the important “regulars” are still here and while activity has waned, things should and will likely pick up this second half of the season and (hopefully) thru the postseason.
By making the forum public, do you still have the ability to block trolls? Last thing we need here are a bunch of Justin’s or Frank’s (or the even worse “wannabes” who are so unoriginal that they feel the need to imitate those characters).
Kill the swear filter - like you said, we’re all supposedly adults here and have heard or used those words thousands of times. Seeing them in a forum shouldn’t offend anyone here and if it does, eff ‘em!
GO DODGERS!!!

Sweet - I believe he / they are still lurking out there just hoping for a chance to sneak in. Unless he joined that other “new” board. I’ll bet they’d love him there.
GO DODGERS!!!

It's all good.
Many of those guys wanted to pick on others but couldn't deal with getting it back. Then they would defend each other's ridiculous posts. Like when some argued the official name of Dodger Stadium was Chavez Ravine Stadium back in the 60's. It went on for hours even though they were 100% proven wrong. Some just can't handle that, and then they hold grudges. This happened a lot. Even in the golf thread we had.

He built this site in a hurry to give us a place to post in the wake of MLB's dismantling. He didn't ask for a dime.

Some just can't handle that, and then they hold grudges. This happened a lot. Even in the golf thread we had. Even sadder was their continuation of their inane arguments from the MLB board over to here. The Chavez thread was just one of several topics that was originally disproved on the MLB board and then reopened / rehashed here. Did they really think this new board was going to all of a sudden prove their points? Especially with the same posters who had already shot them down? I’m certainly no stranger to conflicts, but unlike some of our former members, when corrected I can and do acknowledge my errors and am normally appreciative of the facts and statistics that support opposing arguments. I certainly have never continued on for weeks or months at a time or taken those same stupid arguments into other and / or multiple existing or new threads. How many times did we see that done? This site is doing just fine and I believe “business” will pick up as the season continues and we march toward our long overdue first title in 30 years. Until then, I can only add one other thing. That is, I NEVER want to see Kiké on the mound again unless we’re batting against him. That was just brutal last night. GO DODGERS!!!
