I for one don't believe in fans voting for the all star game. Too many of them will only vote for players on their team, no matter what kind of season they're having. Others will only vote for players whose names they know. Two glaring examples: Reggie Jackson and Bryce Harper. Jackson got voted in every year it seams, and pretty much the same with Harper. He's on pace to be a starter, and he's having a bad season. Managers around the bigs need to pick the players cos they're much more likely to be objective, unless they have a personal grudge. Billy Martin probably wouldn't have picked Jackson. Remember they nearly went to blows in the dugout after Jim Rice's double that should've been a single but Jackson just trotted after the ball?

At least they did away with the absurdity of the games outcome determining home field advantage for the World Series. Truly one of Uncle Bud’s biggest blunders. I’d like to see them do away with the “representative from every team” rule as well. There are going to be quite a few roster spots filled by players on teams that could and should be by more deserving and substantially better statistically ballers. I can’t think of a single player on teams like Miami, Chicago WS, Tampa Bay, San Diego, NY Mets, etc. where there aren’t at least two or three position players BETTER than the best of any on those teams. And I definitely agree with Harper - NO WAY a guy batting just over .200 this year should be on the team, regardless of his previous performance and career thus far. And I doubt Doc pulls a Madden and fills the roster with Dodgers like Joe did with Cubs last year. That was truly ridiculous! GO DODGERS!!!

I voted for Wilson Ramos, Jose Abreu, Jose Altuve, Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, Mookie Betts, Mike Trout, & JD Martinez. For the NL it's J.T. Realmuto, Freddie Freeman, Scooter Gennett, Nolan Arenado, Brandon Crawford, Matt Kemp, Christian Yelich, & Nick Markakis. On behalf of those of us who take this seriously, I'm glad we have some input. Managers have stacked pitching staffs with their own players. They aren't much better
