Dodgers' Justin Turner: Dealing with wrist soreness
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Turner is dealing with left wrist soreness, which explains his absence from Tuesday's starting lineup against the Pirates, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The issue cropped up over the weekend, but Turner is receiving treatment and expects to be back in the starting lineup Wednesday, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. That said, the Dodgers will obviously proceed cautiously with the stud third baseman, especially considering the soreness is in the same wrist that he fractured in spring training. He should be considered day-to-day for now. Max Muncy is starting at third base and hitting second in his stead Tuesday.

Ugh!!! This we can't recover from IMO.... hope he's ok. It might be scar tissue. I broke my ankle not too long ago & the sensation (pain) lasted for about a year afterward. Probably went away maybe earlier this year. Got so I started to wonder if I had re-broken it. There's the initial sensation too of when the cast first comes off & you can feel the scar tissue breaking up. There's some pain related with that. More like trippy though.

Ugh!!! This we can't recover from IMO.... hope he's ok. Agreed - I like Muncy and he has been an offensive godsend, but I don’t want to see him at the “hot corner” for any extended period of time. He has enough trouble just handling throws on the other side of the diamond when filling in for Belly. GO DODGERS!!!

I get 10 mgs. Nomar just mentioned the same thing I did in that some days it's going to hurt. I worked today & missed the game. Watching the replay right now.

Had some good ones when I broke an ankle a decade or so back playing softball. The percs they gave me after hernia surgery were so pitiful, I had to save the four I was supposed to take throughout the day until I was ready to go to sleep just to get a few decent hours in. Worst pain I EVER endured for the better part of a week. GO DODGERS!!!

Worst pain I EVER endured for the better part of a week. GO DODGERS!!! Know that. I have a prescription for 4 / 10-325 Norcos a day. My x-rays are horrible. Just no cartilage left. Anywhere. First they recommended I have my left knee replaced. Then my right knee too. Then my left hip. Then my right hip too. Finally it came down to my spine. Apparently it was worse than either. "Are we going to replace my spine now too?" "No." "Then just give me the freaking Norco." Been on the same prescription for 10 years now. Haven't tried to get more. This latest reaction in Cali is political grandstanding, IMHO. I broke my ankle 10-01-16 & walked on it & worked on it until 10-18-16, trying desperately to convince myself it was a bad sprain. Justin is experiencing normal jitters. He still feels pain. Unless you get beaned again, you're okay, Ginger.

Justin is experiencing normal jitters. He still feels pain. Unless you get beaned again, you're okay, Ginger. I STILL get pain in my ankle from time to time, especially when the weather changes. The hernia hurts at some point just about every day. I tore my left knee up twice - first in my final game as a senior playing WR (I also played TE, S & CB, obviously all not at the same time - VERY small school). Cost me a full ride at Tennessee. The second time I pretty much shredded every tendon and ligament in there to the point that they couldn’t repair them and just had to laser them out. Again - softball. Legging out a single and in full stretch for the base which slid when I stepped on it resulting in a hyperextension of about 25 degrees. They said they heard it pop all the way over in our third base dugout. Crazy thing is, I drove my manual 5 speed MR2 to a friends house, ate pizza and drank beer, smoked a little ganj before going home. Woke up the next morning to a knee the size of a bowling ball. Was on crutches for nine months before six more months of grueling therapy three times a week. Of the three, it was probably the worst injury, yet it doesn’t bother me anywhere near the amount the other two do. I guess it’s probably because I did it when I was younger (20’s) and the hernia and ankle happened in my mid-40’s. If they replaced all of your major joints, you might just be a six million dollar man! GO DODGERS!!!

June 8, 2018 8:57 am Dodgers' Justin Turner: Enters game defensively by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Turner (wrist) was brought in as part of a double-switch Thursday, but he did not record a plate appearance in an 8-7 win over the Pirates.
Turner was held out of the starting lineup after manager Dave Roberts noticed his slugging third baseman was still struggling with the wrist injury that cost him the first month and a half of the season. Wrist injuries -- along with hamate bone injuries -- take the longest for hitters to fully recover their power from, and the 33-year-old's .243/.325/.343 slash line in 20 games since his return from the DL is another example of that. Turner's spot in the order never came around after he entered Thursday's contest as a defensive replacement, but the fact that Roberts felt comfortable inserting him into the game bodes well for his prospects of returning to the startling lineup Friday against the Braves.
