Colorado Rockies @ Los Angeles Dodgers
Tuesday, May 22, 7:10 PM PT, Dodger Stadium
TV: ESPN, SportsNet LA, SNLA Spanish
Radio: AM 570 LA Sports, KTNQ 1020
The Rockies beat the Dodgers last night (or the Dodgers beat themselves. Take your pick.) & are now in 1st place in the NL West. That's right. Arizona has slipped to 2nd. It's not that the Rockies have played all that well. It's that the rest of the division has reeked. They're 26-22 / .542 overall, 0.5 games ahead of the reeling Dbacks.
The Dodgers lost the first game of this three game set to their divisional rivals last night by a score of 2-1. A magnificent performance by Walker Buehler was wasted. They had won 4 in a row before that & are 20-27 / .426 overall, & are 5.5 games behind Colorado in the NL West. They look to rebound tonight behind 'TBD.'

Using his changeup, Bettis had a solid outing going until Brandon Belt's two-run homer barely cleared the fence in the sixth. Bettis left with three runs in six innings of a no-decision. The Rockies won the game, and have won six of his nine starts.

You ALMOST want to feel bad for these Rockies pitchers. Bettis allows a line of .317 / .382 / .500 at home. A 6.89 ERA. It's .203 / .270 / .341 on the road. A sparkling 1.83 ERA. WHIP's are 1.66 & 1.02.

Justin Turner can put this guy on a street corner & pour Drano down his throat if he doesn't pay off.

Not much of a difference between his fastball & changeup. Twice as much horizontal break though. Three times as much vertical break. That produces a lot of swings & misses.

Says here he throws a cutter. I tend to believe that because of the vertical break. He's not really a strikeout pitcher. But these are the Dodgers.
To Be Announced
Dave Roberts hasn’t named a starting pitcher for Tuesday night's matchup with the Rockies, but the most likely candidate is Brock Stewart, who will be recalled before the game for the fourth time this year and third time this month.

Dodgers' Brock Stewart: Expected to contribute Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Stewart will be called up prior to Tuesday's matchup against the Rockies and either start of come out of the bullpen, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Manager Dave Roberts has elected to call up Stewart ahead of Tuesday's matchup, and he'll give Kenta Maeda the nod for Wednesday's game. It's unclear whether Stewart will work in relief or get the start, but he figures to be utilized in some way. The 26-year-old has been near untouchable at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, accruing a 2.08 ERA over 21.2 innings.

Bellinger has become a black hole in the Dodger lineup. (6-48 / .125 over his last 12 games.). The kid better figure it out...SOON!
