Colorado Rockies @ Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, May 21, 7:10 PM PT, Dodger Stadium TV: SportsNet LA, SNLA Spanish Radio: AM 570 LA Sports, KTNQ 1020 German Marquez, RHP German Marquez, last 3 starts 15.2 regular-season innings pitched Wins - 1 Losses - 2 ERA - 5.17 Ks - 16 Marquez gave up two first-inning runs, but no more in his five less-than efficient innings against the Padres in his last start, and has a 2.25 road ERA. May 21, 2018 12:57 am Rockies' Trevor Story: Goes 3-for-5 against Giants by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Story went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and a pair of RBI in the Rockies' 9-5 defeat to the Giants on Sunday.
Story now has nine hits in his last 22 at-bats to bring his batting average up to .250 -- exactly the mark he's posted for his career over 288 games. While that means the average probably shouldn't be expected to deviate too much from that throughout the season, the 27-year-old doesn't need to be competing for batting titles in order to continue to provide excellent fantasy value, as he's now got an .847 OPS to go along with 10 homers, 35 RBI and seven stolen bases over 172 at-bats this year.

May 21, 2018 12:55 am Rockies' Nolan Arenado: Continues to produce despite power drought by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Arenado went 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in the Rockies' 9-5 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Arenado hasn't hit a homer since May 5 - an uncharacteristically long drought for his standards - but he's managed to continue to contribute in other areas, as this three-hit performance brought his slash line up to a brilliant .331/.418/.567 through 157 at-bats. He also threw in his second stolen base of the season, although that shouldn't be considered likely to be a recurring trend, as he's swiped just 13 bags for his career. Fantasy owners shouldn't worry about the recent mini-lull in homers for Arenado, as more hits are bound to start leaving the yard for the 27-year-old dynamo as long as he continues to swing the bat like this.

May 21, 2018 12:52 am Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Gives up five earned to Giants by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Anderson gave up five earned runs on six hits over 5.1 innings, striking out four and walking one as the Rockies lost 9-5 to the Giants on Sunday.
The left-hander was knocked around in this contest and he's now given up 12 earned runs over his last 16 innings to bring his ERA up to 4.74 and his WHIP to 1.34 over his 49.1 innings. He's pitched well in flashes this season but he hasn't been consistent enough to put himself beyond the conversation as a streaming option for fantasy purposes. Anderson is scheduled to take the mound next at home against the Reds next Saturday.

May 17, 2018 7:29 pm Rockies' DJ LeMahieu: Hand specialist reveals sprain, small break by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire LeMahieu was diagnosed with a sprained left thumb with a small fracture in the area as well, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
The second baseman went to see a hand specialist Wednesday after landing on the DL earlier in the week. The visit revealed that LeMahieu not only has a sprain but also a break in his left thumb. LeMahieu told Saunders he's unsure when he'll be able to return, but the diagnosis means it will be tough for him to be back when eligible May 25.

May 21, 2018 5:14 am Dodgers' Josh Fields: Picks up four-out save by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Fields tossed 1.1 scoreless innings while walking one and striking out two en route to his second save of the season in Sunday's 7-2 win over Washington.
Fields entered the contest with the Dodgers up 5-2 in the eighth inning, and he stayed in the close out the game after the club tacked on two more in the top of the ninth. Closer Kenley Jansen was unavailable after notching two saves in Saturday's double-header, so manager Dave Roberts turned to his primary setup man for the second time this season. With Jansen seemingly over his early season struggles, Fields' future save chances will be limited to rare situations like Sunday's.

May 20, 2018 11:38 pm Dodgers' Alex Wood: Avoids serious injury by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Manager Dave Roberts stated that Wood exited Sunday's matchup against the Nationals due to cramps, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Wood made it through six solid innings before having to leave the game because of cramping. This diagnosis comes as a relief for the Dodgers as he should be good to go for his next turn in the rotation.

May 20, 2018 7:23 pm Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Homers Sunday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Hernandez went 1-for-2 with a home run, two walks, two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Nationals.
Hernandez got his first start since Thursday and took advantage by hitting his sixth home run of the season, one that gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. The return of Justin Turner and Logan Forsythe has crowded the Dodgers' infield and caused Hernandez to lose at-bats. Moving forward, he figures to see most of his at-bats come with left-handed pitchers on the mound and he will fill in all over the field defensively.

May 20, 2018 7:11 pm Dodgers' Yasiel Puig: Heating up by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Puig went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Nationals.
Puig provided some insurance for the Dodgers with his eighth inning home run, extending their lead to three runs. Though it was only his fourth home run of the season, all of them have come in the past week. Hits remain sporadic for him -- he has just six in his last 29 at-bats -- but he appears to making better contact at the plate and may be breaking out of his season-long slump.

May 20, 2018 7:03 pm Dodgers' Yasmani Grandal: Goes deep Sunday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Grandal went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Nationals.
Grandal blasted his eighth home run of the season in the second inning, this one coming off right-hander Stephen Strasburg. He has cooled down since a fast start to the season in April, but has three home runs in his past six games. Overall, he has a .511 slugging percentage in 137 at-bats this season, a very impressive mark relative to most other catchers.

May 20, 2018 12:13 pm Dodgers' Pat Venditte: Returns from OKC by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Venditte was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
The ambidextrous reliever will return to provide some depth to a bullpen that was forced to go a full nine after Rich Hill (blister) left two pitches into Saturday's game. Look for Venditte to head back down early next week to make room for a starter.

May 21, 2018 6:27 pm Dodgers' Logan Forsythe: Takes seat Monday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Forsythe is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Forsythe, who is hitting just .190/.250/.302 through 17 games this season, will take a seat on the bench for Monday's series opener after starting three of the past four games. Chase Utley will pick up the start at the keystone and hit eighth in his stead.

May 21, 2018 6:23 pm Dodgers' Yasiel Puig: Gets breather Monday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Puig is out of the lineup Monday against the Rockies, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Puig has been heating up lately, batting .286/.400/.905 with four homers over his last seven games (25 plate appearances), but he'll head to the bench for Monday's series opener against the Diamondbacks after starting nine of the previous 11 contests in right field. The Dodgers will go with Joc Pederson, Cody Bellinger and Matt Kemp (from left to right) in their outfield in his stead.

May 21, 2018 3:27 pm Dodgers' Brock Stewart: Likely to replace Hill in rotation by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Dodgers manager Dave Roberts acknowledged Sunday that Stewart is the most logical option to assume Rich Hill's (finger) spot in the rotation, Ben Standig of MLB.com reports.
Hill was limited to just two pitches in his start Saturday after a blister on his left middle finger popped, with Roberts stating after the game that it would likely take four weeks before the lefty is ready to rejoin the big club. That could create an extended starting opportunity with the Dodgers for Stewart, though the looming return of Clayton Kershaw (biceps) would presumably result in Stewart or Ross Stripling surrendering a rotation spot. Stewart, who maintains a 2.08 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 21.2 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, would likely make his first start with Los Angeles on Tuesday or Wednesday against the Rockies.

May 21, 2018 12:16 pm Dodgers' Yimi Garcia: Returns to minors by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
Garcia served as the Dodgers' 26th man for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader with the Nationals, tossing 1.1 innings in relief and giving up a run. With the Dodgers getting Tony Cingrani (shoulder) back from the 10-day disabled list Sunday, there wasn't any room left for Garcia in the Los Angeles bullpen.

Another reason to line my cat's litter box with The Times. www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=forsylo01&t=b&year=20184 out of his last 10. 2 doubles. 2 RBI's. 2 walks. That's a .500 OB%. A .600 SLG%. No wonder he's scored 3 times. No, the reason he's sitting in favor of Utley is because the Dodgers are facing a righthander. Pay attention, Andy. You get Paid for this, right?
