It wasn't textbook (7 hits, 1 a homer, & finally a walk), but Ross lowered his ERA to 1.98 in a blowout loss to the Cubs.

June 27, 2018 7:40 am Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Allows one in no-decision by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Stripling allowed one run on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.
Stripling allowed just a solo home run to Javier Baez with two outs in the fifth inning, but the floodgates came off after that against the bullpen in the eventual 9-4 loss. The five innings matched the fewest he's gone in his last nine starts, as he needed 86 pitches (58 strikes) to get to that point before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the home half of the frame. Though he struck out just four in this one, the 28-year-old finishes June with an absurd 30:1 K:BB and sits at 89:12 over 77.1 innings on the year. He'll carry a terrific 1.98 ERA into Sunday's home start against the Rockies.

It wasn't textbook (7 hits, 1 a homer, & finally a walk), but Ross lowered his ERA to 1.98 in a blowout loss to the Cubs. Unfortunately, Yimi was Yimi. I’m not excusing the missed fly ball by Yasiel, but that thing was raked and most RF’s wouldn’t have even gotten that close to it. The single before it was hit solid as well. They tie it on an IF FC to bobblehead then Yimi really seemed to bear down, getting their “ace” PH to K. What happened next I’m STILL trying to figure out. WhatsupDoc brings in the Easter Parade for what is supposed to be to get the guy at the plate out, according to the ESPN booth. One guy; one out. Doesn’t happen on a sharp single to left that somehow Kemp allows the runner on first and RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM get to third. Doc sticks with Paredes who then walks Heyward on five balls and then instead of yanking him, allows him to throw a meatball right down the center of the plate to Baez, who already had a HR and was 3 - 3. I swear, I think even I could have put that one in the bullpen! Not to mention an umpire with a strike zone the size of most compact cars. I can’t remember ever seeing SO many low, high, outside and inside pitches (all by a GOOD foot) called strikes. Hope we bounce back from this one and the Woodman pitches like he has the last couple of times out. GO DODGERS!!!

We could eliminate some gristle.

Sbortz has definitely struggled with his base on balls and I wasn’t impressed with Sham-wow the short time he was up. Yimi seems to have decent stuff (much like Baez), but also seems to get tagged pretty hard every time he comes in. Alexander looked very mediocre with a three run cushion last night as well. I hate to see us having to count on Jansen for multi-inning saves - that didn’t seem to work out very well in October. GO DODGERS!!!
