Dbacks now 1-13 over their last 14 games. They have a 7 game losing streak. 5-16 in the month of May. They're 25-24 / .510 overall.
May 22, 2018 4:28 pm Diamondbacks' Socrates Brito: Recalled from minors by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Brito was called up from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Brito will be called upon to replace the injured Steven Souza (pectoral), who was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday. The 25-year-old outfielder hasn't played in the major leagues since the 2016 season, when he hit a dismal .179 with four home runs and 12 RBI over 40 games.

May 22, 2018 4:24 pm Diamondbacks' Steven Souza: Heads to DL by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Souza (pectoral) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.
Souza has been struggling with a right pectoral strain, and despite being able to pinch hit in Tuesday's loss to Milwaukee, the Diamondbacks have decided put him on the shelf to avoid playing with a short bench. Socrates Brito has been called up from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

DB\s had a chance to run and hide away in the division as they were starting to puts some distance between the NLW teams - then "the best-laid plans" hex kicked in! They couldn’t though, ‘cause they’re just not that good a team. I said it last season when everyone (analysts and fans alike) were clamoring all over themselves to anoint the ‘backs the up and coming team in the NL . . . they were playing over their heads then, and they were DEFINITELY doing so to open this season. Lord only knows what’s happened to Paul Goldschmidt, but without him hitting their offense is completely rudderless. And with Pollock and Lamb hurt and/or ineffective, they’re looking for Peralta, Ahmed and a cast of nobody’s to lift them? Not going to happen. Greinke is just ‘good’ and is really not a pitcher you can build a staff behind. Corbin has been good but I think he’ll regress to norms. Godley is nothing more than back end filler. With Ray and Walker out, their staff is middling at best. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this team ended up well under .500 and fourth place in the West.

I was afraid to say (his name) The G-word - let sleeping bears sleep - but I wonder if injured in some way unless he is just all kinds of "mess up" mentally at the plate", I just really haven't watched any of their games since they played Dodgers.
Meanwhile, Greinke suffers his 4th loss of the year - (3-4)W/L record. The Snakes... over the last 17 games are averaging just two runs per game, hitting .174 - Yep, AZ pretty much in the Deep Freeze right now with more than a Quarter of the season in the rear view.

Homer Bailey living up to his usual namesake. 4 - 1 Snakes in the second after Peraza blows a tailor made DP grounder which leads to a three run shot.

Homer ends up giving up 8 (6 earned) in four innings (fails to record an out in the fifth) after Redlegs try to claw they’re way back into the game. 6 - 5 now 9 - 5. Unless something miraculous happens, Reds “ace” (?) now 1 - 7, with an ERA approaching seven.
How in the HELL did we get swept by these clowns in our own house?
GO DODGERS!!!

May 30, 2018 10:54 am Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Impresses in first rehab start by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire MIller covered five innings and gave up one run for High-A Visalia in his first rehab start Tuesday. He surrendered four hits and no walks and struck out eight.
After a couple of starts at extended spring training, Miller pitched in a non-controlled setting Tuesday for the first time since April 23, 2017, when he exited a start against the Dodgers with forearm tightness that later required Tommy John surgery. Perhaps most impressive about Miller's first rehab outing was his impeccable control, as he tossed 52 of his 65 pitches for strikes. Miller is slated to make at least one more start in the minors before potentially coming off the 60-day disabled list and rejoining the Arizona rotation in early-to-mid June.

May 29, 2018 8:25 pm Diamondbacks' A.J. Pollock: Fracture not yet healed by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Pollock (thumb) underwent an X-ray on Tuesday which revealed the avulsion fracture in his left thumb is not fully healed, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Manager Torey Lovullo said the recovery is "exactly where we thought it would be," but the diagnosis likely decreases the odds of Pollock being available at the front end of the initial 4-to-8 week timetable. The 30-year-old sustained the injury May 14 and seems slated for a return in mid-to-late June at the earliest, should he avoid any setbacks. Jarrod Dyson should continue to serve as Arizona's primary center fielder in Pollock's absence.

May 29, 2018 5:55 pm Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Resumes mound work Tuesday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Ray (oblique) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic Arizona reports.
Ray's follow-up MRI apparently revealed the southpaw's Grade 2 oblique strain is healing as planned, clearing the way for him to resume mound work for the first time since landing on the disabled list at the end of April. The lefty tossed strictly fastballs in the session, but is expected to incorporate more breaking pitches the next time he throws off the mound. The Diamondbacks don't have a firm timetable for Ray's return, but it doesn't appear he'll be reinstated from the 10-day disabled list until at least mid-June.

May 26, 2018 11:27 am Diamondbacks' Steven Souza: Still idle with pectoral strain by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Souza (pectoral) has yet to resume baseball activities since landing on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.
The Diamondbacks haven't issued a firm timetable for Souza's return from the DL after he aggravated the right pectoral strain that sidelined him about a month and a half earlier this season, but his lack of activity suggests he'll at least be sidelined for more than the minimum amount of time. Since Souza's latest shutdown, Chris Owings has served as the primary replacement in right field, drawing five starts at the position to Socrates Brito's one.
