It would be understandable to pessimistic about Hill taking the ball for his next start after exiting Sunday's game against the Reds with a blister on the inner part of his middle finger, given his injury history, particularly with blisters. However, he claims the issue will not force the Dodgers to skip his turn. Hill gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and four walks while striking out four in 5.2 innings, taking his second loss of the year. May 30, 2018 10:01 am Dodgers' Dennis Santana: Headed to big leagues by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire The Dodgers will recall Santana from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Robert Murray of FanRagSports.com reports. It's likely just a short-term promotion for Santana, who is regarded as one of the top pitching prospects in the organization. With Brock Stewart lasting just four innings in Monday's start and Kenta Maeda exited in the second inning Tuesday with a hip strain, the Dodgers bullpen has been quite overworked the past two days, so Santana will offer a much-needed fresh arm in long relief. Unless Maeda's injury proves to be a long-term concern, it seems likely that Santana will report back to Triple-A by the end of the week. Over his 10 starts in the minors this season -- the first eight of which came at Double-A Tulsa -- Santana has accrued a 2.54 ERA and 65:16 K:BB in 49.2 innings. "Santana has been very good this season, posting a 2.54 ERA in 10 starts between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A OKC, with 65 strikeouts and 16 walks in 49⅔ innings. He was promoted to Triple-A two weeks ago and in his OKC debut he struck out 11 and walked none in six scoreless innings, his third double-digit strikeout game of the season.
In theory the Dodgers don’t need a starter until this weekend in Colorado, but if Santana is headed to Los Angeles as early as Wednesday that probably means he’s either joining the Dodgers bullpen or he’s starting one of the two games remaining in this Phillies series."
