Acting and sub-stories aside, Pearl Harbor has some of the best and most graphic effects that I have seen in any film.
Also liked We Were Soldiers & The Patriot with Mel Gibson. Hacksaw Ridge (directed by Gibson).
Full Metal Jacket. Apocalypse Now. The Deer Hunter.
Lots of good ones out there!
