Probably going to be out a while. Just read that they didn’t bother to backdate the DL stint when they could have, which means they are already assuming he will be out for more then 10 days.

I think this may be a good thing in the long run. Could be the reason for the reduced velocity we have seen from Kershaw so far and not a sudden drop off.

I’m wondering if this happened during that game where he walked a bunch of people. With him now missing time in 4 of the past 5 seasons the likelihood of him not opting out just increased by a great deal IMO.

He definitely shouldn't expect an increased salary based off what we have seen so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he was hiding the injury a little longer than that performance but it probably got worse at that time. Hopefully it is just tendonitis that would be a good thing.

Bill Plunkett Verified account @billplunkettocr 2m 2 minutes ago Dave Roberts said #Dodgers are “cautiously optimistic “ about Kershaw. Will know more after Dr. ElAttrache examines him

Roberts said decision was made after Kershaw played catch Saturday and “didn’t feel right” from the first throw. Felt “just a little bit” during last start

Man, he looked happy and smiling during the game telecast last night.....what's ailing him? Arm, shoulder, elbow, back? Oddly enough, none of those. Biceps 🤷🏻♂️.

We get our wish he retires a Dodger.

My initial reaction was, “at least it isn’t his back”, followed by, “damn, now we have to worry about his arm as well?”

So he really hadn't lost much speed. Less than half a MPH hour off his fastball. You have to wonder how much his command was effected by this injury though.

Could this season start any worse? First Turner, then Seager, and now this. While it's good that it doesn't seem to be the back, the fact it's something around the arm is very concerning. You don't fly up to see Dr. Neal ElAttrache if it's not that bad. We'll see what happens, but this is not good.
Certainly doesn't seem like he's going to opt out.

To be fair though, this seems to have become an annual rite of passage with Clayton.

And the initial concern was about our bullpen & the loss of Darvish. None of this has to do with Darvish. So far anyway, he's been terrible for the Cubs. Clayton, Turner, & Seager getting hurt has nothing to do with Darvish. No one could have predicted Jansen gets off to such an awful start.
Now we could have paid Morrow closer money to be our setup man. That's the only argument that can be made there.
