FINALLY caught the cat napping and got her LA Dodgers collar on her Wednesday afternoon. 2 - 0 since she’s reluctantly been wearing it (she HATES collars!). Guess I should have tried a little harder earlier in the season.

Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Hits first home run

Barnes went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and two runs scored Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Barnes took advantage of an opportunity to start behind the plate, driving his first home run of the season to left field. He has seen sporadic playing time with only 46 at-bats through 31 games. While he has an ugly .196 batting average, he has been able to get on base at a .413 clip and walked more than he has struck out. However, due to his limited playing time, he is tough to roster outside of deep two-catcher leagues.

Dodgers' Alex Wood: Strikes out eight

Wood allowed one earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out eight across five innings Thursday against the Diamondbacks. He did not factor into the decision.
Wood posted a season-best eight strikeouts but was unable to pitch deep into the game, needing 96 pitches to complete his five innings of work. He has steadily lowered his ERA to 3.83 over his past five starts, and it now falls more in line with his impressive 38:5 K/BB and .45 HR/9. The Dodgers weakened lineup combined with Woods' struggles with efficiency have hurt his win potential, but he has otherwise had very good in 40 innings of work this season.

Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Earns fifth save

Jansen pitched a clean ninth inning to record the save Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Jansen didn't allow a baserunner for just the second time in 13 appearances this season and earned his fifth save in seven opportunities. His velocity had rebounded in his first two May outings, but it dipped once again Thursday while pitching for the third time in as many days. Though still not pitching to expectations, Jansen's results are on an upward trajectory as he has allowed only one earned run over his past six appearances.

Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Confirmed for Friday's start

Buehler will be called up to start Friday's game against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Already tabbed as Hyun-Jin Ryu's replacement in the rotation, Buehler is set to come up for a more extended period with the big league club starting Friday. Buehler made two starts for the Dodgers recently, notching 11 strikeouts over 10.0 innings while allowing just two earned runs when Rich Hill was on the shelf. Buehler's spot in the rotation appears to be safe for the duration of Ryu's stay on the DL, but he certainly has the potential to stick with the big league club beyond that point if he continues to pitch well.

Padres' Javy Guerra: To join Padres on Friday as 26th man

Guerra will be recalled from Triple-A El Paso prior to Friday's series opener against the Dodgers in Mexico, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Guerra will be utilized as the club's 26th man, an addition given to each team throughout this weekend's three-game series since it's being played in Mexico. The 22-year-old infielder is set to make his major-league debut, and will be available for all three contests before heading back to El Paso. Over 25 games at the Triple-A level this season, Guerra is hitting .244/.296/.511 with five home runs and 18 RBI.

Padres' Fernando Tatis Jr.: Logs three hits Thursday

Tatis went 3-for-7, drove in three runs and scored twice for Double-A San Antonio in its 13-6 victory over Frisco on Thursday.
Tatis finished a home run shy of the cycle, padding his extra-base hit total to 14 over 123 plate appearances in the Texas League. Due to a 30.9 percent strikeout rate and .268 BABIP -- his worst marks as a professional -- Tatis has gotten off to a disappointing .212/.268/.442 start to the campaign, but his recent form has offered encouragement. Thursday's three-hit performance was Tatis' second in three May contests, with the 19-year-old picking up half of his extra-base hits on the season during that stretch.
