Hyun-Jin Ryu had to exit the game in the second inning due to an apparent leg injury, so Baez was asked to complete multiple frames, which he accomplished admirably. The Dodgers will be able to add a 26th man for their upcoming international set with the Padres, which should allow the 30-year-old to return to his usual setup duties alongside Josh Fields.

Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Picks up fourth save against Diamondbacks

Jansen allowed a run on a hit and a walk but still converted his fourth save Wednesday against Arizona.
Jansen hadn't seen a save opportunity since April 22 as the Dodgers have struggled mightily in late April and early May. Over the 12 days between saves, Jansen appeared just twice. Perhaps he was rusty given the time between starts, but the run probably wouldn't have scored in a closer game. With two outs, the Dodgers allowed Daniel Descalso to take second base on fielder's indifference, and he scored on the lone hit in the inning. Jansen owns a 5.40 ERA but is largely carrying the weight of his first two outings of the season, in which he allowed four of the seven runs he has allowed thus far. It's not up to his usual standards, but Jansen has a much better 2.79 ERA in 10 outings since.

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Diagnosed with strained groin

Ryu had recorded just four outs -- two via strikeout -- without allowing a run before his leg buckled as he landed after a pitch to Deven Marrero. He attempted to stretch his legs but promptly shook his head and exited the game with a trainer. The 31-year-old will likely undergo an MRI in the coming days to determine the severity of the issue.

Diamondbacks' Zack Godley: Takes loss despite holding Dodgers to one run

Godley (4-2) held the Dodgers to one run on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts through six innings but still took the loss Wednesday night.
Despite throwing his first quality start since April 9 in San Francisco, Godley's two-start winning streak was snapped. He had to nibble against the Dodgers, as he used 100 pitches to get through six innings and threw just 56 strikes. It paid off, though, as Godley's only extra-base hit allowed was a Ryan Verdugo double that turned into the only run he allowed. After that, Godley was pristine, as he allowed just one runner past second base in the next five innings. He'll get another shot at the Dodgers his next time out Tuesday, this time in Los Angeles.

Diamondbacks' Randall Delgado: Receives cortisone shot Wednesday
