Kike has looked good at short.

Hopefully little baby Logan can cover third when he comes back until JT comes back since Kike will probably be handling short this year.
And of course this means we may have to lean on Utley more at second until JT is back also which could wear him down earlier. Just a crappy situation. Hopefully Joc keeps producing and Taylor can play some second while Turner is out to help keep Utley fresh. Man o man could we use a hot start from Verdugo.

Our guys so far haven't been playing like a "team" imo, just a collection of players. Hope this brings them together, gives them focus and they rise to the occasion. Tonight will be interesting, particularly with Grank pitching, vs Strip no less.

Now I know why they didn't do the surgery after the World Series.
In August they made it seem like all he needed was some arthroscopic surgery after the season. A clean up as they say.
But it wasn't that, it'd be more invasive and cause a longer delay for return. Some players opt to wait and see if it will improve on it's own when the option is a year or more off.
So, it's Kiké time!

If he gets the surgery after the WS the absolute best case scenario is he comes back in September this year and it’s very likely he misses the whole season anyway. Now the worst case scenario is he comes back next May or June, with a chance he makes it back by opening day.

This season has already looked brutal, now Seager is out and the hole they’ve dug themselves into is looking astronomically deep. Would have been hard enough to get back up top with a healthy Seager in the lineup. Without him and also no Turner yet this year, Forsythe and Hill on the DL, terrible pitching even from Kershaw and Jansen and already 8 games out of first, the hole is only gonna get deeper.
No way they are going for Machado and that’s all they’re gonna be talking about online and TV, but there’s not a snowballs chance in hell the front office even entertains that idea. Too early to say it’s over? Maybe, but our chances to get back to the World Series this year was looking bleaker everyday with the terrible play we’ve seen so far, now though its as close to saying “stick a fork in it” as you can get.
I’ll try to remain hopeful that somehow we can become competitive and get to the playoffs as even a Wildcard winner, but doesn’t look altogether unlikely to start thinking the Division win streak may be coming to an end. Hard to recover when you lose your best player on top of all the other injuries this year, subpar play so far, etc...

That'll never be forgotten. First we need to get to the playoffs though & Culberson isn't the guy to get us there. No I understand, I was referring to what CC did and thought he could at least be a plug in case this happened. But yes he was never going to put up numbers anywhere close to Corey's numbers. I wonder what they will do. I don't see a Machado trade happening nor do I want them to even try. O's have all the leverage and will ask for too much a guy who almost likely won't be back next year. Guess Kike and CT3 are going to have to carry the lions share at SS. As they say: "it's getting late - early" and with Seager going down, cements the age-old adage even more so. That, along with Turner still a question mark, even when he comes back, no assurances. The D'Backs can and probably will take the knife and turn it, as they run away with the division and hide if they keep this level of play up! Meanwhile, the Dodgers could have a decision, a big decision to make, that is to blow the cap, ---if---- particular Dodger's don't step up, be smart and lead this team out the hole and or, find a "lighting in a bottle" somewhere....?

It really isn’t the offensive production that we have to worry about IMO, it’s the fact that this really weakens the bench and hurts our defense. Teams don’t typically trade everyday starters at this point in the season though, so they are just going to have to go with the internal options for now and see how that works.

With Seag, JT, Puig, Kemp, and Hill hurting, and the BP gas cans, we're hurting bad. We've been spoiled by the last 5 years. The remaining players have to turn it up. BP killing us.

"And the team that isn’t about to surrender on May 1 with five months left in the season.
They will do anything, and everything possible to adequately replace Seager, luxury tax be damned."

"Sure, the Dodgers probably would be insane to trade top pitching prospect Walker Buehler or Verdugo, but then again, if you got a chance to grab Manny Machado of the Baltimore Orioles, who’s hitting a major-league leading .361 with nine homers, and get exclusive negotiating rights on him through October, they may be willing to listen to just about anything else."

Not just the DL. Tommy John. "Today, the Dodgers recalled Breyvic Valera from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed Corey Seager on the 10-day DL with a right UCL sprain. Seager will undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the remainder of the season." Corey, why didn't you fix this in the offseason? Unreal. How could they allow this to be a possibility? No matter what, he's going to miss a season anyway! They tried other methods, hoping for the best. No way in heaven they give up prospects & payroll for Machado!!! Face it, playoff streak is over!

A little premature don't you think. Yes this is a terrible situation, but still too early to write off the season.
