Gonna probably need more than 4 IP from him, especially on Saturday with a doubleheader... I missed that Roberts expected him to pitch on Saturday. That's surprising to me. I might be making this up, but don't teams get to call in an extra player on double-headers? Perhaps both Buehler and Stewart both pitch in that game? Yes they do get to add an extra player for the doubleheader. It's been hinted that he may start one of the games.

Its been more more than hinted "On Monday, 20 games into the 2018 season, they will call up Walker Buehler to make his first Major League start, replacing the injured Rich Hill. Buehler, the Dodgers' top prospect, will probably also start in Saturday's doubleheader against the Giants before being returned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. At least that's manager Dave Roberts' story and he was sticking to it on Sunday. "Correct," Roberts said when asked whether that was the plan." www.mlb.com/news/walker-buehler-to-make-first-mlb-start-monday/c-273368472

It's amazing how everyone has forgotten about Julio Urias!!! The Dodgers limited his pitch count & doing the same to Buehler, my problem is what are the Dodgers minor league coaches & major league front offices trying to teach him? ATTACK THE ZONE is what these two talented guys should be doing, instead of Urias's getting ahead of batters 0-2 & wind up going 3-2 just to add pitches to his count. Seems like the DODGERS are taking the same approach with Buehler, big mistake. If he has control problems which I doubt, he just needs to have an OUT PITCH, a third pitch in order to cut down his work load. The issue with flame throwers is control, but just like Jansen he needs to throw a third pitch cause flame throwers don't last too long, a.k.a. K. Howell, Broxton, Worrell, Gagne & Jansen (6th yr)!!!
I hope Julio comes back & is able to become a MLB starter for us because he has been with us since a teenager & Walker becomes the player everyone expects!

Buehler was impressive. He was going against a really bad lineup, but his stuff was moving and his fastball was consistently in the 97-98 range and hit 100 a few times. After the bases loaded jam, he settled in nicely. I hope he gets another look in SF, but inevitably he'll be sent back down after that.
