Kershaw had thrown almost 75% 1st pitch strikes. That's why the Nats jumped on first pitches
The Nats led the majors in leaving runners in scoring position.
Kershaw is throwing his fastball 40% of the time, and is throwing his slider 43% of the time.
The Dodgers are now 0-8 when the opponent scores first.
Why didn't Kemp start? Kemp was 6 for 36 against Scherzer. That's .167
Before Harper's hit in his 1st set bat last night he had been 1-16 I'm his last 6 games against Kershaw.
Keeshaw led the league in victories last year with 18 wins.
In 2013 Kershaw and Scherzer, last nights starting pitchers, both won the Cy young.
Since 2012, the the Dodgers and Nats are the 2 winningest teams in the National league.
Since 2015 Scherzer has 53 wins and Ketshaw has 47. Sxherzers era is a little higher during that time, but the rest of the numbers between the 2 are very similar.

Good mini scouting report...
Still Kersh kept the Dodgers in there and the game was winnable or, at least our offenses could have gotten CK off the hook!
Best question on this list is Where is Kemp? Well at .167 riding the pine however, since number 27 has shown some good approaches at bat and sluggin' .580 currently, it would have been interesting for him to get a couple of whacks in, against Scherzer, instead of sticking with book. Matty, with his new-found fountain of youth has the hot hand, along with the mini "Oscar Gamble" hair going for him and all, right now.
