Max batting .258-15-32 / .399 / .591 in just 198 plate appearances. Muncy has 8 homeruns & 21 walks this month.

Who IS this guy? Another “scrap heap” rescue that the pocket protector gang picked up for nothing. Hmm - maybe those guys know what they’re doing after all.

I'm tempted to say, "Corey who?", but I know he'll be back with us next March. Meanwhile, we'd be fools to let mad Max get away huh? Maybe Utley will retire and there'll be room for him on the roster.

Maybe Utley will retire and there'll be room for him on the roster. We can only hope! I can’t say I’ve agreed with every move our front office has made since the McCourt years (who can?), but these guys have seemed to find one or two missing pieces just about every year they’ve been in place. From JT to 𝖢𝗁𝗋𝗂𝗌 Taylor to the return of Kemp and now Muncy. Not to mention a never ending changing bullpen that again, while not perfect seems to get the job done and end up ranking as one of the best year in and year out. And all without depleting the farm of our best and better prospects. Teams like the Cubs, Astros, etc. spent years sucking, spending and rebuilding to get where they are now all the while our boys pretty much “stayed the course” while winning the division title most of this decade. Yes - we ALL want that elusive WS ring and trophy and it is LONG overdue. But the postseason? You gotta be “in it to win it” and there’s 29 other teams out there that would love to have been and be in our cleats. GO DODGERS!!!

I suspect they were paying Utley for one year over two years to limit the possibility of going over their salary threshold anyway.

Yeah. Just cut him & offer Chase a coaching job. If he wants to keep playing, good luck. Maybe you'll want to coach later.

Good surprise Muncy has been. He had been struggling going like 2 for 18 with 6 strikeouts in his last 5 games. He had been a homerun or a walk guy but since he has started to mix in some good hits.

Max did great in the HR Derby last night, he had no chance of winning, he just doesn't hit it as far as those other guys. Well done though.
Harper acted like an ass.

Max did great in the HR Derby last night, he had no chance of winning, he just doesn't hit it as far as those other guys. Well done though. Harper acted like an ass. Max certainly represented far better than most of our previous participants. Who could forget the big doughnuts laid by Mike Piazza (‘93 & ‘94) or Puig (‘14)? Matty didn’t fare much better with two in ‘11 and only one in ‘12. Max put up the best numbers since Joc in ‘15 - and I STILL think Joc got hosed as Frazier’s last two were hit off of pitches thrown WELL before the previous balls dropped. Home field certainly has its advantages, as seen last night. I told the wife before the first pitch was thrown Harper would win. Shoulda put some money down on that one. GO DODGERS!!!
