But they didn't. They let their set up guy go, their lefty specialist go, their #2 starter go, and they traded depth for Matt Kemp, all in the name of luxury tax. They also passed on opportunities to trade for Stanton, Archer, Britton, Yelich, Ozuna, and many others. Any one of those guys could have been game changers for the team (minus Britton until he's healthy), but instead they chose to rest on their laurels.

That was last year and this is this year. Though it could conceivably happen, I don't expect another 42-8 run. Those don't come around too often. I hear people say "Don't worry, it's early". To them I say: EVERY game counts. God forbid we miss the playoffs by a game.

April, the only time of the year where fans notice a 2-5 stretch.

If we miss the playoffs by 1 game, that Kenley blown save the other night is going to haunt my dreams for years! Can we just bring up Toles and send Joc to the minors already? We need a spark.

Could be some hangover, disappointment thinking that they should have won the WS (game 7) - as it can be easier to put on a good face, but do you really mean it down deep? However, right now they need a catalyst, some one to jumpstart and lead the charge for the team ~ Like Puig, when he came up the first in 2013, Taylor of last year.

Morrow has thrown two pitches so far. The Stanton thing has been covered.

Snake eyes is right....the old saying of "Cubs fever, catch it an die" has little meaning now...and the curse of the goat, is history.. Motivation, that's is fine - whatever fuels the Dodger's rocket-ship, just don't become complacent and hopefully, I don't think this team will...as I remember the utter disappointment and hurt in Justin Turner's voice of being just -one step- from the "Promise Land"!

Anyone feeling that they drank the kool-aid right about now? The Dodgers lackluster offseason is the cause of this slow start, IMO. We're seven games into the season, and youre' already analyzing the team's slow start? We're the team to beat, no doubt about it.

There's a difference between panicking and showing concern. Yes it is early, but early games do count in the standings, especially in the division. We have a lot of games against Arizona early on and they just swept us with their best hitter cold as ice. That's not panicking, that's just stating the facts. When Goldschmidt does start to hit, Arizona is going to be a very tough opponent. Right now, our offense is cold, our closer has issues, and we don't even know how reliable the bullpen is. Obviously there's plenty of time to get it going, but you don't want this cold spell to linger too longer.

But I’ve noticed I don’t see nearly as much concern when a 2-5 stretch happens in June.

So when our offense heats up, our closer fixes his issues, & the bullpen sorts itself out (like it did last year), you're saying we'll be a very tough opponent? Okay. I agree.
