Colour me shocked. Just caught the last K of Lindor on MLB-TV. Guess the Mutts gave us this one with some really poor D in the eighth and ninth. Oh with another Oh-fer. Dude seems to be swinging at everything. Never even heard of Megill. Hopefully LA is starting a new streak. GO DODGERS!!!

Last nite was the Stone's best performance yet! 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 7 Ks, 0 BBs, on but 87 pitches. His next start will be vs the Blackbeards. And props to Mig Vargas! Though he's 2 for 10 since being called up, both hits have counted. That homer last nite and a double before that, giving him a .600 SA. What slump? Meanwhile, down at OKC, the Out Man is 6 for 22, with a .955 OPS, and a .500 OPS, 9 BB, but 11 Ks. It seems he has a great eye, drawing so many walks, but those dreaded Ks keep plaguing him. But at this rate, he's still more productive than Taylor. I say, keep the Out Man there for about a month, and I predict his K rate will fall considerably. Then recall him and send Taylor packing.

Gotta give Stone props - he looked very good last night. But, and there usually is a “but”, it was against one of, if not the worst hitting teams in both leagues. I believe Costas stated that the Mutts TEAM BA was less than .200. That’s REALLY bad! At least LA has four or five guys at the top that are hitting to go with their .200 club at the bottom. And even those blind squirrels find a nut every now and then. I saw Alvarez up in the pen last night and nearly went into convulsions. After his “performance” here in Cincy, there would be no chance of him ever getting in a Dodger uniform if I owned the team. Prior is a decent pitching coach. But there are some cases that cannot be fixed. Like Alvarez. GO DODGERS!!!

The kid can flat out pitch and they're all major leaguers, so just cos a team has a great record means nothing when pitted against a lesser team, or at least stat wise. Next up, Blackbeards

Next up, Blackbeards Gotta admit he’s looking a lot better this than last year and he’s continuing to improve on his control and innings pitched. Even Scooter seems to have turned the corner, despite the bomb GS he gave up to India last Friday night. I put that wholeheartedly on Daisy by bringing in a six plus ERA pitcher that a team as bad as the Mutts released and in front of 40k hostile Redlegs fans to load the bases with some of the worst pitching I’ve ever witnessed in my 60 plus years. But you know me - I’m always a half full kinda guy who thinks these guys should win every game, especially against inferior AAA teams like those Redlegs. When you drop over a grand for a weekend expecting to see one team dominate the other and then have to sit thru 23 innings of what I can only describe as ennui and apathy, it makes one a bit cynical as to what the hell did I just waste all that money and time on? And I’ll go to the oven saying this team will not win another WS title as long as Daisy and Fraudy are running the show. I hope and even pray that I am wrong because I’d obviously like to see another championship or three before then. But LA could have five Nolan Ryans, Five Mariano Riveras and nine Shoheis and those two would still find a way to eff things up come October. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Collects four hits Wednesday Rotowire 43 MINS AGO Rojas went 4-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI against the Mets in Wednesday's 10-3 victory.
Rojas started at shortstop before shifting over to third base late in the contest, and he produced his first four-hit game since last September. The veteran infielder has hit will while mostly filling a backup role this season, slashing .284/.333/.457 with two homers, nine RBI, 12 runs and two stolen bases over 87 plate appearances.
Dodgers' Jason Heyward: Logs seven total bases off bench Rotowire 1 HR AGO Heyward went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a triple in a 10-3 win against the Mets on Wednesday.
Heyward didn't start the contest, but he was called upon to pinch hit for Andy Pages in the eighth inning and smacked a triple before eventually coming around to score. The veteran outfielder got another at-bat in the ninth and came through with a solo homer to right-center field. Since returning from a lengthy stay on the injured list May 17, Heyward has slashed .231/.310/.538 with a pair of homers, three RBI, four runs and a stolen base over 29 plate appearances.
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Goes deep Wednesday Rotowire 1 HR AGO Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.
Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors. Ohtani has added 38 RBI, 41 runs, 13 stolen bases and a .330/.395/.615 slash line through 248 plate appearances.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Still not swinging Rotowire 14 HRS AGO Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Muncy is on a "slow program" due to lingering oblique soreness and isn't currently swinging a bat, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Muncy resumed baseball activities last Tuesday, but his progress has since been slowed by continued soreness in his oblique. The third baseman is already eligible to be activated off the IL, but given Roberts' comments, it doesn't seem like Muncy is on the cusp of returning. He'll almost certainly head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to rejoining Los Angeles' lineup.
Dodgers' Will Smith: Two homers in rout of Mets Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Smith went 3-for-5 with a double, two solo home runs and a third run scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Mets.
The catcher took David Peterson deep in the second inning before getting a hold of an Adam Ottavino sweeper in the eighth. It was Smith's first multi-homer game of the season, and the pair of blasts gave the 29-year-old 100 for his career -- making him the fourth catcher in history to reach triple digits in a Dodgers uniform along with Mike Piazza, Roy Campanella and Steve Yeager. On the season, Smith is slashing .296/.360/.516 with nine long balls and 36 RBI through 49 contests.
Dodgers' James Paxton: Limited workload Wednesday Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Paxton came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets, giving up two hits over three scoreless innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.
The veteran lefty was pitching on just four days' rest, and per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, was told prior to the outing that his workload would be limited. Paxton wound up tossing exactly 50 pitches (29 strikes), as the Dodgers effectively went with a bullpen day and used six relievers after he left the mound. Paxton will take a 3.29 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 31:28 K:BB through 52 innings into his next outing -- when he should see a more usual workload in a road start against the Pirates.

Mets reliever Jorge López denies calling own team worst in 'whole f---ing MLB' after glove-throwing tirade López threw his glove into the stands after being ejected Wednesday By R.J. Anderson 12 mins ago • 2 min read The New York Mets reliever Jorge López insisted Thursday morning that he had actually meant to insult himself, not his own team, in a heated post-game press conference the night before. López had an eventful Wednesday as part of a 10-3 loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers (box score), surrendering a home run to Shohei Ohtani; chucking his glove into the crowd following an ejection; and then expressing no regret for his actions when speaking to reporters after the game. But the takeaway quote, in which beat reporters said he called the Mets "the worst team in probably the whole f---ing MLB," was wrong, López said Thursday after being asked multiple times to clarify Wednesday night. Instead, he said, he called himself the worst "teammate," he posted on Instagram. López's trouble began when he took over for Adam Ottavino in the top of the eighth inning. He subsequently surrendered a double to Miguel Vargas and induced a fly out from Mookie Betts before giving up a home run to Ohtani that made the score 9-3. López thought he had generated a swinging strike from Freddie Freeman that would've made the count 2-2; instead, third-base umpire Ramon De Jesus insisted Freeman had held up, giving him a 3-1 advantage in the count. López and De Jesus then barked at one another, resulting in De Jesus tossing López from the game. Predictably, López did not take well to that decision. As he exited the field, he chucked his glove over the netting that protects the crowd from foul balls: x.com/SNYtv/status/1795953930406343118?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1795953930406343118%7Ctwgr%5E16c3d8dde84b8b384ff8f7b39ebc44d9934de74e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbssports.com%2Fmlb%2Fnews%2Fmets-reliever-jorge-lopez-denies-calling-own-team-worst-in-whole-f-ing-mlb-after-glove-throwing-tirade%2FAfter the game, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza labeled López's acts as "not acceptable" and said they would be dealt with internally. López, for his part, said that he didn't regret throwing his glove into the crowd. He then cast doubt upon whether or not he'll remain on the roster. "I'm ready to come back tomorrow if they want me to be here," he said. Instead, the Mets designated López's for assignment Thursday. x.com/SNYtv/status/1795976287409901709?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1795976287409901709%7Ctwgr%5E16c3d8dde84b8b384ff8f7b39ebc44d9934de74e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbssports.com%2Fmlb%2Fnews%2Fmets-reliever-jorge-lopez-denies-calling-own-team-worst-in-whole-f-ing-mlb-after-glove-throwing-tirade%2FWhen SNY sideline reporter Steve Gelbs asked López to clarify Wednesday night that he intended to call the Mets the worst team in the majors, the pitcher replied by saying, "yeah, probably." He added that he felt his teammates looked embarrassed by his actions. (López later explained that he meant he looked like the worst teammate on the worst team, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.) x.com/SNYtv/status/1795983566083404071?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1795983566083404071%7Ctwgr%5E16c3d8dde84b8b384ff8f7b39ebc44d9934de74e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbssports.com%2Fmlb%2Fnews%2Fmets-reliever-jorge-lopez-denies-calling-own-team-worst-in-whole-f-ing-mlb-after-glove-throwing-tirade%2FLópez, 31, entered Wednesday with a 3.12 ERA (122 ERA+) and a 1.90 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his first 26 innings this season. It's worth noting that he also had a rough outing on Tuesday, surrendering three runs (two of them earned) in an inning of work against the Dodgers. He received the loss in that decision, his second of the year. The Mets, by the way, have now lost three games in a row and eight of their last nine. Following Wednesday's loss, they're 22-33 on the year, putting them in fourth place in the National League East. It's easy to understand, then, why López may be feeling frustration with both his and his team's performance over recent days. Unfortunately for him, he may have more reason to feel annoyed come Thursday.
