The game was a thriller! But I still say the best super bowl ever was XIII, when the Steelers beat the Cowboys, 35-31

Los Angeles still holds the title of best halftime show ever. I hope you’re not referring to the one last year or if you are, it is in your usual sarcastic way. I actually throught Rhi Rhi put on a good show last night. Could we have done without the crotch grabbing and twerking? Absolutely. But her voice sounded great and her song selection was also good. I give her major props for standing on a platform that high above the field, even with that security bar / belt behind her. I’m not really afraid of heights - it’s the falling that scares the shit out of me. GO DODGERS!!!

I ran into some kid outside of my favorite liquor store today. I was wearing a Chiefs jersey. He congratulated on my team's victory. Then he asked if I knew about the positive test Patrick Mahomes had after the game. I was stunned. Would he take something for his ankle? Why would the results be made available so soon? Cortisone? That takes days, & even weeks to work. Prednisone? What could they have given him? This is the NFL. Probably half the players have pain killers in their system.
I got home & started searching for the story. It was nowhere to be found. Was this kid using Facebook?
I just saw a story refuting those claims. Yeah. It was probably Facebook.

If true, it would have hit Twitter sometime today as well. Mahomes certainly looked to be in EXTREME pain after hobbling off the field. But whatever they gave him (morphine, cortisone or some other pain killer), it obviously worked or he’s a really good actor. Adrenaline is an EXTREMELY powerful drug and the way he played in the second half also proved that. I’ve played sports with a concussion, broken bones and even managed to walk myself off the field, drive home (with a manual clutch), stop at a friends for pizza, beer and some smoke only to wake the next morning with a knee the size of a bowling ball and following a trip to the doc, a diagnosis of a torn ACL & MCL in my left knee. Mahomes may have been out “statted” by Hurts, but he obviously out PLAYED him and earned / deserved the Super Bowl MVP. Wish I’d have put some money down - I had picked KC as well as the “over” on 51 points. GO DODGERS!!!

Patrick Mahomes said coach Andy Reid threatened to bench any Chiefs player who tried to watch Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime show
Story by insider@insider.com (Meredith Cash) • Yesterday 3:55 PM
Andy Reid wouldn't let anything come between his Kansas City Chiefs and a Super Bowl victory on Sunday.
Not even Rihanna.
The Chiefs head coach was adamant that none of his players sneak out of the locker room to go watch the iconic singer of "Umbrella" and "Diamonds" fame perform her highly anticipated halftime show. So when Jimmy Kimmel asked superstar Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes whether he caught any of the show, the eventual Super Bowl LVII MVP could only say he "heard it was great."
"Coach Reid told us — he said if you go out to watch the performance, just keep walking," Mahomes said, "because you're not playing the rest of the game."
While it may seem obvious that players competing in the Super Bowl wouldn't be allowed to go watch the halftime show when they still have two more quarters to prepare for, it's not unprecedented for athletes to head out to the field and catch some of the action. Just last year, Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson headed out to the turf to watch Dr. Dre's Super Bowl halftime show.
Though the rookie seemed to enjoy the show, his team wound up falling short 23-20 to the hometown Los Angeles Rams.
Reid was not interested in anyone on his team trying out their own luck a year later. Thanks to his coach's harsh stance, Mahomes said he, Travis Kelce, and a few other "great leaders" in Kansas City's locker room gave the team a halftime pep talk instead of dancing along to RiRi's hits.
It worked out quite well for the Chiefs, who came from behind to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 38-35. With the victory, Reid and Mahomes earned their second Super Bowl rings in a four-year span.
And Mahomes seemed pretty happy with the outcome come Monday — even if he had to miss Rihanna's big moment.
