One down, ten to go. Kersh gets Game 2 with reduced pressure than the opener. Let’s hope he duplicates that Game 2 start from 2018 and we hit the road up two zip with only nine more wins for the title.
Much will depend on if CK can keep the ball in the yard, because you know the Nats are going to be swinging for the fences, especially after getting shut out tonight.
GO DODGERS!!!

I see that egomaniac clown wearing his bright orange Marlins jersey and visor has once again made his front row appearance behind the plate in DC. Saw him at a lot of the postseason games last year as well. Does he not know the Marlins SUCK? And who wears a team jersey for a team that’s NOT EVEN PLAYING?
GO DODGERS!!! Someone begging for attention. From Washington to LA, the narcissistic egomaniac was in full view national television again for most of the night. But I mean really - does he need attention SO bad that he has to show up in a bright orange Marlins jersey with “Marlins Man” and a big # 1 on the back at EVERY game he can get into? Dude is ALWAYS right behind home plate, so he obviously has a few bucks to continuously get those postseason seats. Can’t he just buy a few friends? He’d never pull that shit in Arizona. Thing is - based on the seats he always seems to get, he’d still get plenty of camera time wearing a Dodger or Nationals jersey. But I guess that isn’t enough for this asshole. Nothing screams LOSER more than a ten year old bright orange jersey of a team that hasn’t smelled the postseason for nearly two decades. GO DODGERS!!!

Remember Rainbow man, that guy who wore the rainbow afro wig behind home plate at so many ballparks? Last I heard about him, he was arrested on thee counts of kidnapping way back in '92. Now there was a real narcissist who craved attention.

Joe Kelly nice job. Here is comparison of bullpens.... Nats - 2 IP 4 H 2 BB 4 R LAD - 3 IP 1 H 0 BB 0 R Plus, our bullpen is ranked 4th in the bigs (1st since June 1st, they said on MLB Tonight), and the Nats' bullpen is ranked dead last. It's a miracle they won their division. Strasburg will be tough as Corbin was last nite. His career postseason ERA is 0.41. Kershaw's, by contrast, is 4.32. But this is this year and past stats are out the window. However, tonite's game will be a nail biter. It won't be a cake walk like last nite. When we win, it'll be in the late innings when their bullpen hands the game to us.

Everyone knows the Nats weakness is their bullpen. No surprise.

So, Sax and Cates are downplaying Kershaw's post- season struggles. I guess because they don't want Kershaw fanatics to jump off the ledge or something LOL. Sorry but until Kershaw proves otherwise he hasn't been good in post- season. He has been an ace but he has not been ace like in post- season. He owns a 4.17 ERA in the playoffs and a 5.40 ERA in World Series. I hope he is as good as he was in the regular season with the loss of velocity tonight. Let's go Kershaw!

I still don't trust Kelly & neither does Roberts. Dave DID use Joe in garbage time.

Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Dominant against Nats
Rotowire Oct 4, 2019
Buehler allowed one hit and three walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a win over Washington in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday.
Manager Dave Roberts gave Buehler the nod in Game 1 over future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw, and Buehler rewarded his skipper's faith with a gem. Buehler made history, becoming the first NL pitcher to have back-to-back postseason starts of six innings or more with two or fewer hits allowed, per Ken Gurnick of MLB.com. The right-hander also became the first pitcher ever to strike out at least seven batters in each of his first five career postseason games. He's in line to start Game 5, if necessary.

Could that be right? Koufax or Gibson never did it?

Dodgers' Alex Verdugo: Unlikely to return in 2019
Rotowire 13H ago
Verdugo (oblique) isn't expected to play this postseason, JP Hoornstra of The Orange County Register reports.
Verdugo has been sidelined since Aug. 4 due to a right oblique strain, and while the Dodgers were initially optimistic about the outfielder's chances of returning for the playoffs, it now appears his 2019 campaign is over. "It's not bad," said Verdugo. "It's just when I get to that little extra range, that full range is when I feel a little bit of it." When asked about Verdugo's recovery process, skipper Dave Roberts stated "It's slow. He's moving around as you see. But as far as baseball activities, he's really not doing a whole lot. So, to see him ready at all this postseason - very unlikely."

I still don't trust Kelly & neither does Roberts. Dave DID use Joe in garbage time. I agree with you. The game was in the bag by then 6- 0. The encouraging part is that after giving up a double to Turner, Kelly got the 2, 3, 4, hitters out.

Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Dominant against Nats Kid looked fantastic. Curve was dropping in at 82 and his fastball was running up there at 97- 99. Fantastic!

Dodgers' Alex Verdugo: Unlikely to return in 2019 Yeah, Alexito ran out of time. Hope he is ready next year because he showed to be able to hit LHP as well.
