What's to consider? Luxy is more than MLB ready. Calling him up and getting him in the lineup occasionally would be great for him. Next April, he'll be our leadoff hitter, the first real leadoff hitter we've had since Steve Sax.

I'm with you. Let's see what he can do and go from there.

Ken Gurnick is a little late to the party. He's just reporting this now.
Prospect Lux may not have roster spot in Sept. Dodgers' No. 1 prospect could serve in 'apprenticeship' role By Ken Gurnick @kengurnick August 28, 2019
SAN DIEGO -- Infielder Gavin Lux, the Dodgers' No. 1 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, will be with the big league club sometime in September, but he might not be playing.
Manager Dave Roberts said the 21-year-old Lux “is in the conversation” for a callup, but would commit only to Lux being with the team “in some capacity.”
That sounds like Lux will serve an “apprenticeship,” as Roberts calls it, similar to the one catcher Will Smith had last September. Smith was physically with the club, taking part in drills and meetings, but not activated.
Lux is tearing it up at Triple-A Oklahoma City after a promotion from Double-A Tulsa. The 2016 first-round Draft pick is a shortstop who has also played second base.
Roberts said David Freese will be activated when the roster expands Sunday. Ross Stripling, who pitched three rehab innings Tuesday night, will also be activated. Suspended pitcher Julio Urías, scheduled for a rehab start on Thursday, is eligible to return Tuesday.
Alex Verdugo still has oblique soreness and won’t be activated during the first week of September, Roberts said.
The Dodgers would need to open a 40-man roster spot for Lux, as they will when Urias and Rich Hill are activated.

Dodgers' Yadier Alvarez: Placed on restricted list
Rotowire Sep 3, 2019
Alvarez was placed on the restricted list for disciplinary reasons Monday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
The Dodgers didn't provide much detail on Alvarez's situation, but he won't take up a spot on the 40-man roster while on the restricted list, per Gurnick.
