At this rate he is doing what everyone wanted out of Puig.
Geez, Cody, who needs Bryce Harper LOL!
With 4 years of control left the team is in a good spot. He is surpassing Seager as the star on the team.

Most remarkable stat to me.
31 strikeouts in 228 plate appearances (13.6%) in 53 games. On pace for 95 strikeouts for the year.
Last year he had 151 strikeouts in 632 plate appearances (23.9%) over 162 games.
He just stands there fighting them off until he gets one he wants. Incredible.

The power was there as we know but finding a good batting average to go with it is fantastic.

That's over and done with.
At this second he is the best player in the LEAGUE. Granted, it's only been 2 months.

Watching with some Mets fans the other night. They all complained about "terrible base running" on the throw to 3rd. As deep as he was how could the guy NOT tag up? That was the throw of the year, him tagging on that play was a no brainer to me.

Exactly that. I am ecstatic about his success but it's only two months and about 5 more to go.

Cody has a 223 OPS+ right now. Mike Trout has an AL leading 172 OPS+. Bellinger has failed to reach base in just three games so far. One as a pinch hitter. His current streak is at 17 straight games

Only 5 times has a player been over 12 (Ruth 3 of them). There are 15 seasons of 11.0-11.9 (a few more Ruth).
ZIPS projects Cody to end up at 9.6.

A couple more throws like those we saw this week and I’m guessing that number might reach or exceed double digits. Dude is a flat out star. Pretty glad the wife got me his signed and perfect 10 graded Topps rookie card for Christmas a couple of years ago. It’s in a plexiglass case and makes me smile every time I see it. GO DODGERS $!!
