@jimbowdengm 1. No trading after July 31 2. Innings breaks to 2 minutes 3. Mound visits from six to five 4. HR Derby winner gets $1m 5. Rosters to 26 6. Three batter rule Not all are this year it seems.
5 and 6 are in 2020.
From the turn of the century till 1973, baseball rules didn't change, except for MAYBE outlawing the spitball. Then that satanic DH was invented but since '73, no rules changed, till a year or so ago. Now, there's the 20 second between pitches rule, which I admit isn't a bad rule. But this list of six rules, why, why, why? As much as I don't approve of how Roberts handles the pitching, it shouldn't be a rule as to when he can pull a pitcher. But there's another proposed rule that's not on the list: computerized umpires! Are the players robots? No, they're humans, as must be the umpires! Instant replay took away the managers shouting at the umpires, which was good entertainment for the fans and that was bad enough, but this proposed rule, I'd rather listen to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez making a fool of herself every day!

some of them are silly. 3 batter rule is just plain ridiculous. who even thought of that?
you want to speed up the game? make sure the batter stays in the batters box! it's really that simple.

I remember Sean Casey as being one of the WORST stallers between pitches. EVERY SINGLE PITCH, whether he swung or not, he had to step out, undo and re-tighten the Velcro on each batting glove, adjust his elbow pad, helmet and jock / cup.
If you’re swinging as hard and violently as these guys do, I get it. Things come loose, need to be adjusted or reset. But if you’re just standing there taking a ball or strike, NONE of these things should need any “tweaking”. Dude used to drive me mental l!
GO DODGERS!!!

Yeah, most of them do it to play games with the pitcher, especially in tense spots. It’s unnecessary and the main reason games are “too long”. Playoff games esecially are brutal to watch watch if your team isn’t playing.

I think it was George Foster who would clock out for lunch between pitches.
Richie Hebner & Mike Hargrove had all those nervous habits. You're not that good! Speed it up.
The good part was knowing it was time to get a beer.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Unlikely to start Opening Day
Rotowire Mar 15, 2019
Kershaw (shoulder) isn't expected to be ready to start on Opening Day, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Kershaw continues to progress through his throwing program, although this update isn't all that unexpected, seeing as he's yet to face live hitters halfway through March. With the Dodgers' ace likely on the shelf, look for either Walker Buehler or Hyun-Jin Ryu to get the nod to kick off the 2019 campaign. Manager Dave Roberts hasn't ruled out the possibility of Kershaw pitching in the first week of the regular season, however, per Gurnick.

Dodgers' Tony Cingrani: Shut down with shoulder soreness Rotowire 19H ago
Cingrani has been shut down with left shoulder soreness, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
It is a recurrence of an issue he experienced last season and it will sideline him past Opening Day. He received medication and will not throw for two weeks while undergoing more treatment. Scott Alexander will now carry a heavy load as the Dodgers' clear top left-handed reliever to start the season.

The good part was knowing it was time to get a beer. I think the worst staller of all was Al "The Mad Hungarian" Hrabowsky. He'd get set on the mound for the next pitch, then he'd step off, slamming the ball in his glove and just acting mad. There might be a full minute between his pitches at times.

Pitchers like Jonathan Papelbon used to average about 30 seconds between pitches. We're all very familiar with Baez here in LA.

Dodgers' Julio Urias: Won't stretch out past four innings
Rotowire 7H ago
Urias won't be asked to pitch more than four innings in an appearance during spring training, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Urias figures to break camp as part of the Dodgers' bullpen, although by stretching him out to four innings in camp, manager Dave Roberts is confident Urias could also be called upon to start if needed. Roberts believes that Urias could also be used on back-to-back days out of the bullpen throughout the 2019 campaign.

Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Sharing duties at keystone
Rotowire Mar 16, 2019
Manager Dave Roberts said that Taylor and Enrique Hernandez would share the starts at second base during the regular season, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
A timeshare at the keystone wouldn't close the door on Taylor receiving something close to an everyday role, as his ability to play shortstop, third base and all three outfield spots affords him multiple avenues to making regular starts. Hernandez offers similar defensive versatility, though his underwhelming numbers versus right-handed pitching [.221/.288/.377 slash line (82 wRC+) in 733 plate appearances] place him at greater risk than Taylor of settling into a short-side platoon role.

An observation.
The starting pitching has been outstanding so far this spring. That’s wothout Kershaw or Buehler.
I, for one, am happy we kept Hill. The guy has been awesome for us, especially in the post season.

The guy has been awesome for us, especially in the post season. Should have never been removed from Game 4. Seems his blister issues are in the rear view mirror as well. Although I’ve never been a fan of pickles (can’t stand the smell or taste), pickle juice RULES!!! GO DODGERS!!!

The guy has been awesome for us, especially in the post season. I don't understand why they're babying Buehler. I do understand they dont' want to overwork him, but he had the whole winter to rest didn't he? Nevertheless, even if he's not ready to start the season, we still have: Hill Maeda Ryu Stripling Urias The Dodgers have been a starting pitching factory since the early 50s and I really enjoyed reading about how our farm system keeps producing, despite the late round picks because of our winning divisions and pennants. And even without Kershaw and Beuhler, we have Ferguson, with Santana and Gonsolin waiting to step up after a little more seasoning.
