So the $3,000 (I got it for $2,200) Norditrac arrived via box truck last Friday and immediately found a spot in my garage.
With the pallet and packaging, it was just about the size of a half refrigerator. And weighed just about as much.
Weather sucked all weekend ; Tuesday I decided to start unpacking the pieces and bringing them into the front room where it was to be assembled and stay.
Had to move my baby grand over a few feet, but that was no biggie as she’s on plastic sliders.
So I get all the pieces in and only have the bottom treadmill left to move. I dragged it about half way out my garage, but there was no way in hell I was getting it in the front door by myself.
Called my prostate brother and he stopped over and gave me the other hand and muscle I needed. He’s a retired cop, gym rat and all around shirt off your back kinda guy. Known him for 45 years.
I jacked around starting the assembly all week but finally decided to tackle it today. Started around 3:30 - just got done around a half hour ago.
What a ROYAL PAIN IN THE ASS!!! I spent nearly two HOURS on the first step alone.
There was this guide wire that I had to tie to some electrical wiring coming from the base of the machine.
This wiring and its plug had to go up through one of the side legs, thus the need for the guide wire.
Well, I tied it on and pull the wires & plug through, but I could not get the plug through the tiny hole it was supposed to fit through.
Eventually, it loosened it self and became unattached from the guide wire with no way to get to it through this steel leg other than to pull it all the way out through the feed hole and start over.
Thing is, I then had to somehow get this hair thin guide wire back through the leg and to the opening. Multiple attempts to feed it through manually only has me cursing like an NWA song.
Finally decided to tie an allen wrench to it and dropping it down through the leg. Miraculously, this worked.
But I still had to re-tie it to the wiring and plug and get it through that too small hole at the top of the leg.
Well, I got it up there again and this time that bastard was coming through the hole. Tweezers did work.
Got a pair of needle nosed pliers from my Craftsman chest and around twenty minutes later, FINALLY got that bugger through the hole.
Again, keep in mind this was the FIRST step!
It got worse from there but it would take hours for me to tell the entire ordeal.
Needless to say, I’m regretting not springing for the inside delivery and assembly!
Everything on me hurts!
GO DODGERS!!!

I’m certainly going to try tomorrow after I get up. But crawling around on a hardwood floor for nearly five hours with ribs and a knee that are still not 100% was brutal on these old bones! Holy shit. 181 lbs. My stomach is flat. Not flabby either. I'm wearing a belt to keep up my 34" inch waist pants. I just put on a shirt I haven't worn in decades. It's not all good though. Losing close to 70 lbs at any age has side-effects. Turkey neck really bad. I'm setting up a GoFundMe so you guys can send me money to get cosmetic surgery. No. Wait. It's for the site! I need $5,000 for a server for this site. That's the ticket...

No rib fractures. That they saw. Arthritis. In my ribs? I looked it up. Psoriatic arthritis can affect your ribs.

I weigh 195 lbs. The scales at home & the doctor's are far apart. Obviously, I trust theirs'.
Wow! I must be pretty solid. I still wear a belt to hold up my pants.
BP is 102/64.
The eye doctor confirmed a big floater in the lasered eye yesterday. 20/20 in the surgically repaired eye. 20/25 in the lasered eye.

I’m ALWAYS 10 - 20 pounds heavier on them than our home digital one that is fairly new and supposedly within a pound or two accuracy wise. Docs probably set theirs up so they can get another pill or two into you that you don’t really need. I’m down to four a day. Two for pre-diabetes, one for blood pressure and one for cholesterol. My Cialis ran out and I haven’t renewed the prescription. It was running fifteen to seventeen bucks a month for a VERY low dosage that had zero effect on my “wood” abilities. Been married close to 33 years now; haven’t really needed wood for the last 32 😝 GO DODGERS!!!

My brother & I had to trick my daughter into coming over. That's so sad. John called her & said he hadn't heard from me on my birthday. I wasn't answering the phone. Tessa knows I used to be prone to depressive bouts. So that's not unusual.
I found out my grandson has two boys of his own. He's just 18 years old.
"I guess college is out of the question now."
She nodded sadly.
I gave her the mail that had been returned. Told her there was money in one. At least I know why Jerry was silent. His mother's influence & just having his hands full.
She came out of obligation more than concern. She was here & gone in five minutes.
Whatever.

Had an epiphany in the bath. I had no sooner sunk in than it dawned that if we go strictly by what her son has gotten himself into, Tessa is a fuckup as a parent. Her first degree was in child psychology. I'm surely not gloating over that. And although Jerry might have bitten off more than he can chew at such an early age, new life has been brought into the world. Both children are by the same mother. He must really care for her. But he must have been 16 years old when that girl got pregnant.
Not so easy, is it? This parenting thing. She ran away because she thought I was too strict. Her mother encouraged that belief.
I wonder if that dawned on her. Did she do the opposite to prove me wrong? She looked sort of sheepish as she related the story.
I'll have to be careful to not rub that in. You listened to your slutty mother & not your father.

Still dueling with the ophthalmologist. Far as I'm concerned, he shouldn't get a dime for what he did. I've complained to several agencies already. He charged me $2,000.00 for a cheesy light show. He later did the right eye for free. Exactly what the left eye should have cost.
Got a $920.00 bill from the anesthesiologist. I looked & had to laugh. He's trying to make others pick up the slack so he can keep his money. He's also pitting third parties against me. Okay. On a lark, I called.
Their rep said this is for November's surgery. That's the lasered eye. It's dated March 18th, 2024. The surgery was performed four months prior to that. They haven't gotten paid yet? Blame the doctor. She looked some more. There's another $805.00 due from December. Three months ago. They haven't collected that either? That went through insurance. Is this doctor having any financial difficulties I should be made aware of?
He's trying to fuck with me. But he's so used to getting his way, he doesn't realize how this makes HIM look. I don't have to pass any ethics tests.
I had the oddest eye exam yet. Last week. It was at a new doctor's office. It seemed superfluous. I think they were checking for the floater in my left eye. Yes. It's there. Has been since the bandage came off. I have the Titanic floating around in there.
Midrange vision is total shit. Like I have to wear reading glasses to see what I'm eating.

That SUCKS!! Guess my wife and I either got lucky (we’ve both heard our share of horror stories about lasek) or had a dude who REALLY knew what he was doing. His last name was Marino (how could I go wrong with that?) and I still have 20:10 vision in my left and 20:20 in my right. Wife had hers done by the same guy nearly a decade before me and she’s still 20:20 in both. I do have to wear readers, but really only when working or using my computer. Don’t let the man get you down! GO DODGERS!!!

Been just under two weeks on the Norditrac. Up to three miles a day at 3 mph, but damn - it’s kicking my ass.
Knees, back, ankles and hips all calling me “BASTARD”.
Every day gets a little easier, but I got a ways to go to get back to my previous 4 mph with a 5% incline.
Lent officially over at 6:00 pm EDT - had three fingers of Maker’s with a 24 oz Honey Brown (beer) chaser and of course, a full pipe of natures finest.
Dinner at Texas Roadhouse - 16 oz sirloin w/ sautéed mushrooms, steak fries and salad. And two more 24 oz Miller Lite drafts!
Happy Easter!!!
GO DODGERS!!!

Man, I knew I was special. 'Hans Christian Andersen is Thomas' fifth great grandfather's wife's nephew's wife's husband's brother's wife's sister's husband's wife's second cousin once removed's husband's father's partner's son!' Love the exclamation point.
