Gonna probably need more than 4 IP from him, especially on Saturday with a doubleheader...
I missed that Roberts expected him to pitch on Saturday. That's surprising to me. I might be making this up, but don't teams get to call in an extra player on double-headers? Perhaps both Buehler and Stewart both pitch in that game?
Yes they do get to add an extra player for the doubleheader. It's been hinted that he may start one of the games.

Its been more more than hinted
"On Monday, 20 games into the 2018 season, they will call up Walker Buehler to make his first Major League start, replacing the injured Rich Hill. Buehler, the Dodgers' top prospect, will probably also start in Saturday's doubleheader against the Giants before being returned to Triple-A Oklahoma City. At least that's manager Dave Roberts' story and he was sticking to it on Sunday.
"Correct," Roberts said when asked whether that was the plan."
It's amazing how everyone has forgotten about Julio Urias!!! The Dodgers limited his pitch count & doing the same to Buehler, my problem is what are the Dodgers minor league coaches & major league front offices trying to teach him? ATTACK THE ZONE is what these two talented guys should be doing, instead of Urias's getting ahead of batters 0-2 & wind up going 3-2 just to add pitches to his count. Seems like the DODGERS are taking the same approach with Buehler, big mistake. If he has control problems which I doubt, he just needs to have an OUT PITCH, a third pitch in order to cut down his work load. The issue with flame throwers is control, but just like Jansen he needs to throw a third pitch cause flame throwers don't last too long, a.k.a. K. Howell, Broxton, Worrell, Gagne & Jansen (6th yr)!!!
I hope Julio comes back & is able to become a MLB starter for us because he has been with us since a teenager & Walker becomes the player everyone expects!

Cool. I’m just going to go ahead and enjoy his first start.
Buehler was impressive. He was going against a really bad lineup, but his stuff was moving and his fastball was consistently in the 97-98 range and hit 100 a few times. After the bases loaded jam, he settled in nicely. I hope he gets another look in SF, but inevitably he'll be sent back down after that.

camguy48: If there's a worse manager in baseball I hate to see who it can be. Why Roberts keeps putting Johan Ramirez in key situations is beyond me. This Ramirez is about as bad of a relief pitcher as I've seen since 1959. Sometime I think Roberts WANTS to lose.

camguy48: Johan Ramirez is the worst pitcher on the team. Why he's stilll on the Dodgers is a mystery. Dave Roberts doesn't care if they win or not. He's got other pitchers in the bullpen but he brings in this worthless guy. He should be DFA'd.

camguy48: Taoscar has to be smarter than he's shown. Bases loaded, 0-0 count, a pitch that starts out at your knees and every pitcher knows you'll swing at a pitch in the dirt. That's why the Mariners got rid of him; too many Ks.

camguy48: Dave Roberts has to go. I've defended him in the past but those days are over. As soon as he takes the rookie pitchers out the Astros score. Believe your eyes Dave not the "book" you go by.

camguy48: The Dodgers should not trade River Ryan or Justin Wrobleski among the 5 players I heard the Dodgers would offer for Detroit's Skubel. The other three OK but not them. - Also, I wish Orel Hershiser would stop making excuses for Roberts.

camguy48: Can you imagine how good Taoscar would be if he didn't strike out so much? Thank goodness Freddie hits behind him.

camguy48: This is Joe Kelly's last year in baseball along with Kike, Ahmed and Kiermaier. If Jason Heyward doesn't get going, ditto for him. Of course without Yohan Ramirez Roberts will go with another rag arm in Kelly.

camguy48: As a fan I hate to see a manage give up on a game in the 2d ining. I understand whether you lose 1-0 or 40-0 it's still one loss but to leave a young pitcher in there to get shelled doesn't make sense even if the manager wants to 'save' his bullpen.
